Garb
Washington: Brandon Lloyd, WR, SF 49ers(acq via trade); Antwaan Randle El, WR, Indiana; Christian Fauria, TE, New England; Adam Archuleta, S, Saint Louis My team just got noticeably uglier. The second most handsome man I've ever seen - gone. Although Ben Waston is scarey looking - that man is a star in the making and secured Fauria's fate as a Redskin. So, Watson, Graham and um.....that would be it. Bet the house on this: Pats will draft yet another TE. Hasn't Belichick drafted about 13 TE's since he's been the HC of NE? CluJet
Someone remind Tannebaum that the free agent period started already. Well apparently someone reminded him not to overpay for some veterans. He is playing it right, don't bash them yet.

YJF
Someone remind Tannebaum that the free agent period started already. 9 teams without a free agent signing yet and two of those teams are New England and Pittsburgh. The last two superbowl champs. Any surprise there? Those two teams have a systematic approach to how they approach free agency. They don't overpay for players, They let alot of their own players walk and they use the draft as the main focus to building their teams.

Excellent insight YJF To throw money at free agents is not the end all to winning- see Mets in baseball, Redskins in football and rangers in hockey. Before people start blasting the jets regime lets give them a chance to put a plan to build a team in place
Sperm Edwards
Part of it may also be waiting for teams to bust their nut early. They may covet a certain mid-level player but don't want to start contacting/negotiating with him until much of the cap room around the league has run dry. Plus each team has the main ingredients for success already in place. Top tier QB, WR, O-line, defense. I get frustrated when the Steelers don't make many moves this time of year at times. But come draft day, we make it up.
