I’m ok with Saleh being fired and Ulbrich taking over.  I’m not ok with Woody doing this without even consulting his GM and having security escort Saleh out.  Saleh wasn’t a good head coach but that does not mean he is a bad person.  It is a bad look for the next time they hire a head coach again

A security escort for a terminated employee is 100% standard practice. The way the media initially reported this makes it sound like he was caught shoplifting at Target and LP cuffed him and tossed him out the door. What a joke.

As for being a "Bad person", it's clear that Saleh's first instinct wasn't to take a breath and reflect, call guys on the team, or just... take a moment and chill, dude was on the phones to his media contacts (Like Hughes) within 20 minutes of being terminated to sell "his side" of the firing and try to control the narrative in his usual clumsy, ham fisted way. Seems to me having the head of Security walk with him as he gathered his sh*t and went to the door was the right call.

Even record?   Jets fans have such low expectations.

Even record, 7-7, going into December of last season was doable  I don’t think that would’ve been low expectations considering all of the issues the team was having. Instead they dropped five straight.  The jets coach had the low expectations because once Rodgers went down he figured on getting 7 wins.  Surprise surprise they won 7 games.

Tomlin could have won 9 or 10.   Agreed.  Golf is more important.

No problem with firing Saleh, but I think the accountability needed to start with the offense and Hackett.  Not sure that the Jets could stomach demoting Hackett and then watching the results for the next 4 weeks in order to assess, but part of me wishes the offense was addressed first.

Ulbrich was the only logical choice to be interim HC and maintain continuity.  The question now is whether the defense loses anything with Ulbrich needing to focus on the whole team and not just the D.

Agree with Saleh getting fired. He's a poor head coach. The results speak for themselves. The Jets have a short window with Rodgers. It's worth trying to salvage what would have been and still could be a lost season.

Strongly agree with Ulbrich taking over as head coach. The Jets had to stay in house, and he's the best qualified and most respected candidate for the job.

I'm so happy Saleh was fired I had to go to the Dr because my erection lasted longer than 4 hours.

I've fired thousands of people but the dozens I've done in person I've walked out of the building. It's standard practice

Those who didn’t answer “strongly agree” to Ulbrich’s promotion should be required to list their preferred choice

my preferred choice was to keep Saleh.

1. bad timing. you make this move days before a game for 1st place.

2. im afraid we just weaken our defense. your taking the DC and giving him 100 and 1 more responsibilities. how can he do all that without the defense taking a hit.

3. either Ulrich or another coach will have to do double duty cause we are a coach short and cant hire anyone outside the org in season. so either Ulrich like i said above will do it or he promotes someone to be DC and that guy will have to do that AND his positional coaching job. dont see how that makes us better.

there is a reason the NFL has more coaches than any other sport. because they need them with all these players.

4. Hacket just got demoted. Saleh couldnt do that? reports say he was going to before he got fired. at least the defense would have been left alone.

5. i dont believe this team quit on Saleh, not after they won 2 meaniless games last year after they got eliminated. i think there pissed at Rodgers and Hacket not doing their jobs. but those guys are untouchable. i also dont believe that Hacket is staying because he is such a nice guy. Rodgers probably told him to stay because if Downing sucks he would get Hackets job back. i know that sounds crazy but i dont put nothing pass Woody to do something like that.
