Scott Dierking
Rotoworld is reporting that Jim Fassel will be fired today, in part for the lackluster Baltimore offense. Boy, for a supposed offensive genius that Billick is, he has not shown a lot.
joewilly
wow i've never heard of an oc gettin canned in midseason before. whose is the all knowing billick gonna bring in?
124
Fassel is a good Head Coach...offensive coordinator? Maybe not so much. I really hope he gets a chance to be a HC once again in the league.

Just wonder who will replace him for 2007.. Panthers' McCoy?

Panthers' McCoy? yeah, didn't fassel take away the play calling duties from payton 1/2 way thru the season? 124 lots of folks would argue against fassel being a good head coach,oc or q'backs coach he's a likeable guy but not nfl hc material
Sperm Edwards
Boy, for a supposed offensive genius that Billick is, he has not shown a lot. But Minnesota put up so many points with Cris Carter and Randy Moss and Jake Reed and Robert Smith and Leroy Hoard and Brad Johnson (and other veteran QB's - Randall Cunningham & Jeff George - also capable of delivering the ball) and Jeff Christy and Randall McDaniel and Matt Burk and Todd Steusse and Korey Stringer and Andrew Glover and Gary Anderson. How is it you don't recognize Billick as a genius with all those obstacles on their offense?

Some people are better at different jobs. Mike Martz is an excellent offensive coordinator but a bad head coach. Eric Mangini you can argue is a better hc than defensive coordintor. The Troll
wow i've never heard of an oc gettin canned in midseason before. whose is the all knowing billick gonna bring in? Texans' fired Chris Palmer after two games last season. This is the first time I ever remember a team that actually has a winning record doing this during the season. Kind of funny that Jamal Lewis has been bitching about the offense, and then, presto, Fassel gets ****-canned. Being as Jamal Lewis is an awful running back, I am guessing that cocaine is involved. How else to explain paying him $9 million a year and then firing people at his whim?

Boozer76
Billick has got to be the most arrogant a$$hol;e on the face of the earth. That offense sucked from the moment he took over. Furthermore, when Fassell got a hold of Boller he actually finished off the season quite well and looked like he might become what he was supposed to be this season. So what does Billick do? Goes out and gets the most washed up veteran on the market to take over. Anybody else notice Boller threw for 3 TD's and 226 yards in a game that they barely lost to the preseason SB favorite? Fassell has actually done a hell of a job getting Boller ready to be a decent NFL QB, Billick stuck his dick in things and forces McNair in, and now has the audacity to fire Fassell for it!! The funny thing is Billick and Fassell were best friends before he took on the job in BAL.
Maxman
Billick talking about it now on NFL Radio. I have removed Fassel from the O\C position. It is one of the hardest decisions I had to make. blah blah blah. Tell it to Mike Martz at the next genius convention.
