We still LACK a big tall reciever with after burners and a legitimate tight end. Yeah if only we had any talented wide receivers. You would be right, if the Jets took a WR in the 1st or 2nd round that WOULD have been a terrible draft. Instead they did the correct thing and vastly improved their defense. Well, not much happened for either line this season. it's a priority for next year if they want to stop the run and avoid getting Clemens maimed. pjam76 Posted November 11, 2007 Share Posted November 11, 2007 boy were u wrong The Jets are 1-8. The defense stinks. The offense stinks. Not one player this team has drafted has improved the team. Mangold and DBrick are ok, but the OL still stinks. Washington and Brad Smith are nothing more than special teams players at this point. Revis and Harris look good, but again, the defense can't stop the run nor can they stop the pass. A great draft would mean you improved something on the team. People condemned the Packers for picking a lot of defensive players over the last couple of years. Well this season that defense is one of the better defenses in the NFL. They improved the defense and now you see results. I don't think the Packers are a SB team,, but who knows, it's the NFC. The Jets OL still stinks. DBrick is avg and at this point so is Mangold. Both have upside, but so do other players around the league on teams like the Colts and Pats. The Jets defense is horrible. You don't get credit for a great draft if every single thing you did made your team worse. The OL still sucks. The defense can't stop the run or pass. Revis, Harris, DBrick, Mangold, Washington, and Thomas Jones have not improved this team. You can say what you want, but hoping they bring in great players next year means the players you have this year weren't good enough to win.
