faba
The ofensive line is the most worrisome to me right now-as far Kendall's unknown status and depth on the line.
timbok
thats a very good depth chart.....
Gibbon
Yeah its great except its got about 75 names on it. Which goes to show that its way too early to be thinking about depth charts.
#27TheDominator
It'd be kind of surprising if McChesney gets reps at NT because they allocated him to NFLEuropa as an OG. Fitch is playing DT over here. I'm also kind of surprised that they only list Wade Smith as C. Didn't he start at T for the 'phins?
4HCrew
the name under kickoffs needs to be changed....maybe with a guy that can reach the 5 yard line or so
AVM
the name under kickoffs needs to be changed....maybe with a guy that can reach the 5 yard line or so But they're directional kicks!!! Nugent could kick it to Atlantic City if he wanted!
Gibbon
the name under kickoffs needs to be changed....maybe with a guy that can reach the 5 yard line or so You honestly want to fill a roster spot (1 of 45 on game day) with a kick off specialist when the Jets had excellent coverage on kick offs last year? Give me a break. I dont know if you noticed it or not be relatively recently the kick offs were moved back by the league to decrease the # of touchbacks with predictable results. Nugents kick offs are not costing the Jets games. Find something else to complain about.
4HCrew
Complain? it was a comment and would love to know how the jets kickoff coverage was so good when it always seemed like the opponent started on their 30. I would rather "waste" a spot on a guy that can impact the field position game but call me crazy
Gibbon
Complain? it was a comment and would love to know how the jets kickoff coverage was so good when it always seemed like the opponent started on their 30. I would rather "waste" a spot on a guy that can impact the field position game but call me crazy It was and is a barely veiled complaint about Nugent's kick offs. Here is some statistical information for you to consider. Nugents avg. Kick off traveled just inside the 10 and the avg punt return was around 21 yds which means the opponents avg starting field position was the 30. Sounds bad right? Well, when you consider that across the league the avg starting field position given up by most teams on kick offs was the 27 or the 28 it seems that the excellent coverage by the Jets ST made up for the shorter kicks. OF the three teams who lead the league in TB: Miami 24 touchbacks avg opponents starting position after kick off 29 Jacksonville 21 touchbacks avg opponents starting position after kick 26 Denver 19 touchbacks avg opponent starting position after kick 29 Kicking the ball to the five or into the end zone is not, in and of itself, the most important determinant of opponent field position. To me, using a roster space to gain a couple of yds worth of field position after a kick off would be a bad decision.
Greenseed3
I wonder how we're going to sneak 71 players onto a 53 man roster. Maybe we should adopt camogflage colored uniforms.
