will Posted January 12, 2008 Share Posted January 12, 2008 Vilma for a 3rd?? No Way!! I dont think Vilma should be considered in a mock offseason. His situation is just too speculative. But a high third round pick would be ok for a guy who is entering the last year of his contract, coming off an injury and who has been replaced in a defense for which he is ill suited. I'd like a second round pick for him but suspect his value is somewhere from the middle of the second round through the middle of the third round. Have you seen him play? I know that dude on JI is in love with him, but I'm not sold yet. To be honest, I saw parts of a couple of Cyclones games and don't really remember him at all. He's precisely the kind of guy that makes these early mocks kind of difficult. Until we see how he does at the combine and all-star games second seems like a reach. Could be a great pick or a huge reach. Anybody that wants to complain to me that they don't care about the combine because you can only find "workout warriors", please note that guys like Rubin shoot up Jets mock boards just because of carrying a ton of weight.
