Bugg
3 1/3, 7 earned? Is this a freaking joke? For all his talent (and salary) enough of this guy. He's a lousy teammate, and his diminished pitching skills and questionable makeup make him less useful than ever. When Pavano adn Wright are healthy or when Colter Bean is deemed ready(2.60 ERA at Columbus) let's send this psycho packing. If things aren't exactly perfect, he cannot get people out, and doesn't seem to care. For all of Leiter's faults, at least he battled and didn't give up for the sake of his team. Brown simply won't be a professional like that. I don't know if he has mental problems or what's going on. Simply, enough.

Barton
Sad thing. I think he should definetly retire after this season is over His back is DONE
TaborJet
It's hard to watch him pitch. It's like an automatic loss every time. How do you let someone like Lieber go, and keep Kevin Brown?
Jet/BosoxFan
(sigh) When will they ever learn? IT IS GREED, you bloody fool. The incessant greed of fat steinbrenner is why Brown is a Yankee, and his greed is why your team is currently in peril. They kept Kevin Brown because they had to, who would take a shot pitcher who makes $15 mil? Go back to when they acquired Jeff Weaver...THAT was done out of greed as well. JW was a good pitcher in Detroit and supposedly the best pitcher available at the deadline of '02. NYY gave up LHP Ted Lilly in a 3-way trade for JW. But Jeff sh*t the bed as a Yankee for 2 season and contributed to killing their laughably short title runs. All the while, making $7 mil per year. Expensive for the Tigers, chump change for george. But as we know, george has never been content to cut his losses and write it off as a bad idea, making himself look foolish. So he made the JW deal worse by doing what? He sought out a MORE expensive option in LA's Kevin Brown, a one time GREAT pitcher. So on the day that george ran Andy Pettite out of town because of his own stupidity and self-loathing, he brought in Kevin Brown (the anti-Pettite) and exacerbated the Jeff Weaver problem. Bugg
The Weaver/Brown trade is even worse when you notice the Yanks threw in Yancey Brezobhan, who in Gagne's absence is now the Dodgers closer. Brown pays more in psychiatric treatments than the Yanks would've paid for a good reliever like Brezobhan.
Maxman
Bugg: After the ALCS last year Brown should have been given his walking papers. Along with Cashman. And maybe Mel. But the first two definitely.
GimmeShelter
Would you take a shot on Mark Redman? Poor record but decent stuff and pitched well at Yankke Stadium this year.
Green Jets & Ham
At this point Brown is just stealing money It must be pure torture for this guy to play baseball and get his @$$ handed to him this way ... but he will never leave that money on the table IMO it's the only reason he hasn't retired ... in other words, he's stealing money Greedy mofo would rather put himself through physical and emotional hell than give up that cash

GimmeShelter
Kevin Brown left the Yankees today to have his back checked in Colorado. ''Kevin's fine. He didn't have any problems. He's still not where we want him to be, but because we're on the West Coast, we gave him permission to leave early and stop in Colorado to see one of his doctors on the way back East,'' manager Joe Torre said. ''So that's where he is today. Hopefully, this little visit to Colorado will help him.'' Brown is expected to face the Angels again next weekend

Not exactly true. While Weaver was getting more money than he was worth, I think it's rather obvious that the Tigers could afford him. Weaver was traded because Dave Dombrowski didn't like him. I think that trade worked out for the Tigers. They nabbed themselves Jeremy Bonderman and Franklyn German (and the currently tearing up AAA, but couldn't do jack in the big leagues Carlos Pena). AFJF
It's unreal for a guy with stuff like Browns that they can't find a way for him to contribute. I'm fed up with him as much as the next guy but when I see that he's not giving up the long ball and still has a great BB/K ratio it's frustrating. The guy is just too damn inconsistent and with the money he's making the Yankees are just stuck with him.

GimmeShelter
Yankee beat guy (Sweeney) says no Brown or Pavano this week. Brown may be done. Hideo Nomo possibly as it only costs 100G a start to sign that type of released player.
