Green Jets & Ham
Welcome to the Anti-Unit club.... Talk about washed up POS Aaron Small, who makes like the league minimum, is out-pitching this big washed-up hasbeen ... BY A LOT!! Heck, even Uncle Al is out-pitching this fool ... that's how horrible the big hasbeen has been
GimmeShelter
This is a bad one and we're not even sure if Randy came away from the game healthy. To make matters worse, it falls upon Al to pick the team up tomorrow with the Jays suddenly breathing down the Yanks back.
Maxman
I was at the Albany practice yesterday. Spoke to my 10 year old son on my cell phone as I was driving back. I said what happened to the Yankees today. He told me they lost and that RJ pitched terribly. I asked him what was wrong with RJ. He answered, "Dad he is REALLY OLD". GimmeShelter
On the way back from the Lake just now I heard Susan Waldman and Sterling (which by the way are the biggest two Homers in the history of sports radio)say that Randy may miss his next start. They also were gaga over what they coined a great start by Leiter. They gave Al's line of 5 2/3 innings, 4 hits, 4 walks, 1 hit batsman and 2 bases loaded jams. To me thats ok as long as you get the W, but Al was again a hit or two away from getting knocked around. According to Sterling, Joe plans on keeping Al in the rotation and pitching Small in long relief when Pavano and Randy get back.
GimmeShelter
Pavano heading back to see Dr. Andrews so Leiter or Wright become critical.
Barton
Somethings been up with Randy this entire season. I'm sorry but in a mere matter of 4 months after the 2004 season you do not lose 6mph off your fastball. His back has issues, rest will not get rid of it forever, but it will probably give him more energy and improve alittle. Pavano is starting to piss me off. He should have been back 3 weeks ago. We'll see, I dunno. And now frickin way should Aaron Small go to the bullpen. THAT IS RIDICULOUS. If Leiter stays in the rotation and Small goes to the bullpen than Torre should shoot himself in the di*k because he has no balls and no brains. MasonJet
I can't stand this guy anymore. I knew I didn't like this trade. Giving up 2 young guys like Vazquez and Navarro just did not seem like a good idea.
Jetfanmack
Wouldn't surprise me to see him miss a while. His stats are remarkably similar to how they were in 2003 where he missed half the year (after I drafted him #2 in my fantasy draft). Jetsfan80
Funny, no one in Yankeeland seemed to think it was a bad idea to sign a 41-year old to be their ACE at the beginning of the season.

Jetsfan80
Don't forget Beltran and the Zambrano trade. Funny, as many bad moves as the Mets have made, and despite all the sh*t we've taken, and despite Mets fans having a REALISTIC view of their team, it would appear the Mets (3 games out of the WC) are by no means in WORSE SHAPE than the Yankees (4 games out of a playoff spot). Yet you won't hear that from us. We know our season is over. Yankee fans are just delusional and continue to pray for their team to stop being the inconsistent, bumbling old team it's been all season. I think most Yankee fans will never confuse Aaron Small, Shawn Chacon and Al Leiter for Pettitte, Clemens and Wells. They are in trouble. The only thing that is keeping a Yankees fans hope up right now is that the Red Sox keep letting them hang around. If they haven't completely collapsed by now they won't. The games with the Red Sox in September will tell the story.
NorthCoastJetsFan
Don't forget Beltran and the Zambrano trade. We can complain about Glavine, and to some degree, Beltran, but ease up on Zambrano. He's had two bad starts, but other than that the guy has pitched terrifically. I don't know about 5 years from now, but as of this moment, this trade is a clear win for the Mets. Off topic here, but I thought the fans booing Beltran in the 8th last night was pathetic. Scored from 1st on a single, had a base hit, was involved in another run, and he grounds into a DP in the 8th with the Mets up 6-1 and gets booed? I was embarassed with that. Jet/BosoxFan
This just goes to show that the Yankee $kankees know they are D-O-N-E this year. You know you have them on the ropes when you insult one of the recipients of their many outlandish, unnecessary, baseball-ruining contracts and the yahoo Yankee fans resort to questioning a member of your team! WTF does Tom Galvine have to do with this discussion at all? This thread is a forum to discuss the impact, or lack thereof, of the Big Skullet. Nothing more. I dont want to hear about any of the Mets players. I dont want to hear about any of the Red Sox roster on this thread. All I want to hear from you morons is: "Yes, we recognize that the Big Skullet sucks like a Hoover and it was a bad idea to bring him in and sign him to an extension. He is 41 and horrendously inconsistent. Its only gonna be getting worse for him and for us."
