Maxman
75 pitches for Lee. Down to 4 runs. (Howard was terrible on the ground ball btw. The whole play was in front of him if he wanted to get one out and keep Hinske at 3b that would have been pretty easy). I hope they have a big 6th (25 pitches and 2 runs) and get Lee out of the game. Oh yeah and that Aceves is on. Another thought -- Hughes is going to be called on at some point in this game if the Yankees keep fighting back. I hope he is up to it. Jet Moses
It probably has more to do with the multiple personal attacks he had earlier in the day. Try reading the whole thread and not just my posts.

Maxman
If Gardner got hurt they would be rolling with an outfield of Matsui - LF, Damon - CF and Swisher - RF. OUCH. Glad he is okay, that would be bad.

Maxman
Brett was way overmatched there. Sitting the bench for a month and having to face a lefty like Lee, not a good thing.
Maxman
91 pitches for Lee. Which means the Yankees get 2 innings off the Phillies bullpen tonight (hopefully).

Lee isn't going to be pitching again until March. Maybe, just maybe, they'll push him to 140 pitches.

Maxman
I thought they would go with Marte there, was nervous when I saw it was Coke. But I can't knock Girardi for it because those lefties could have come back up in the 9th if the Yankees came back. So he was saving Marte for that if the game was tied. Coke ouch. Utley wow. Otter
Maybe we should consider knocking Utley off the plate. BTW now I know why Coke has been buried in the bullpen.
Maxman
Note to Phil Coke: Lefty relievers who have long careers don't give up home runs to lefty batters.

Maxman
Damon - Tex and ARod. If Coke didn't give up another 2 runs we would be going NUTS right now. 4 run game though. And they do get 2 full innings of Phillies relief so anything is possible!
