Ok I was going to go stand on a line for one of these for a Christmas gift but the store here has had a line since 7am today.

I think I am going to take my chance and try online at midnight for one.

Do you think this item is going to sell out and then not be anymore before Christmas???

I hate when the companies do that to the kids.

If you are not prepared to wait in line then I don't think you will be getting one. You will either have to find yourself in the lucky situation of being in the right place at the right time, or you can pay far too much on ebay.

All orders from online stores were placed back in May, so I don't think you will find one there. There is no harm in trying though.

I think the stock allocations over there are ridiculous. Places like Walmart are getting the most consoles, so people have to camp out just to have a chance to get one. The specialist gaming stores are getting so few that many preorders will be unfulfilled. Over here it's the gaming stores who are getting the most stock, so people who preordered will get their 360s. There won't be any need to camp outside for hours.

Rob....do you work in the industry? You are pretty knowledgeable about this...I am just curious.

No I don't. I've just been doing my research on the 360 for the last few months, so I know more about it than most people. I also have a brain like a sponge, so I can recall obscure facts that I read weeks ago.

I've been lurking on some xbox forums and the stories are crazy. There are stores with lines of over 100 people when there are signs up saying they only have around 20 consoles in stock - and this is 12 hours before launch!

Btw JFBM, I found this article detailing a few stores you may want to try tomorrow:

Thanks rob but I called the stores that are not selling them til later and they all have lines around the corners. Oh well there is always a birthday coming up too!!!

One walmart had 30 the other here had 14. I even tried online but the bundles at circuit city are $700 and say they may come in January. At that point I will wait and see if more arrive in the next couple of weeks. They did this with the first one and three weeks before christmas I walked into a toys r us and bought one off the shelf. I was in the right place at the right time!!! :)

I had to work last night/early this morning for the launch and everything went pretty smooth for us. We only had systems for the customers who had preordered them, so after about 30 minutes we were done. Still have a few people left to pick theirs up today, but that's pretty much it.

The Wal Mart in our shopping center only got 15 systems, which were gone in less than 20 minutes, and the Wal Mart the next town over only got 2.

We have one extra core system left. I'm buying that today and then heading over to Best Buy or Circuit City to try and find a hard drive.

I loved the Intellivision Football. You could run an option. QB rolls out and you basically pass it across the field (lateral) if the receiver was all alone.

The ball would go right through the offensive line. It was awesome.

I'm hearing reports now that the highly touted 360 has some glitches. Games freezing, dvds not reading. They had the edge with Sony waiting for a later release and it seems they still may have dropped the ball. Sony will be laughing all the way to the bank.

This happened the 1st time around. I bought one originally and the same thing happened. It scared me.

Swapped it out for one that was made in the "2nd batch" and it has run fine ever since. I do agree though, this is not the publicity that they need right now. Still wouldn't stop me from picking one up.

My 360 works fine. Ive been playing it alot and had no problems. One of the main issues is people are placing them in areas where there is no ventilation. That is a big mistake because it causes the system to overheat.

I placed mine up vertically by the TV with plenty of space for it to ventilate, and its working like a charm!!

Best game ever--- John Elway's football on original nintendo

That game sucked. It was funny as hell in the off chance that you actually were able to pull of the reverse play. The WR was about 5 times faster than anyone else on the field and you could just do laps around the field for an entire quarter with never having to worry about anyone coming close to you.
