Jetlife33
Winslow's statement: "It came as a huge surprise to me when I learned that I tested positive for a banned substance. I have investigated all possible sources since learning of the positive test, including possible medical causes, but frustratingly, I do not know the source. I do not take supplements that list any banned ingredients, but the NFL policy is very strict, so I'm accountable for the results" He then goes on to apologize to the team and the fans. Am I the only one who thinks he's full of it?

JohnnyLV
I actually think it is plausible. Supplement companies tend to put things into supplements to get results, even things that are banned, or derivatives of banned substances they think the NFL will not catch. Just look up how many over the counter "natural" viagra tablets have been pulled from the shelves because the secret to its efficacy was that it contained, well, viagra. Winslow may have known or may have been using a cleared substance that was juiced.

Bugg
I don't believe him. Do better. The NFL encourages every player to discuss any supplements or vitamins or treatments with team training staffs and doctors at no cost and any time before taking anything. There are no secrets. He could've brough the bottle to the training staff, no problem, very easy and simple, to verify if it was okay. He clearly did not or we would know and the jets would be fighting this with hiom if it was in dsipute. This is a big business. I think the rules are increasingly foolish, but they are in place and players know that. The "I didn't know" excuse might have washed 10 years ago, but now it has the distinct odor of bvllsheet. Especially because as the son of a HoFer Winslow did not fall off the turnip truck but has probably had the best in training since birth. This is a shame because so far he's done a good job this season.
