And with his power will likely command above the 10.5 he will earn next year which likely means he is out of their range. I think it makes sense for the A's. They have a very good team now and Lester has a good track record in the playoffs. Next year, Cespedes would likely be trade bait for a top prospect. That prospect is not helping this year.
