Matt39
Quote: Bengals receivers Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh refused to believe the better team won the game. "No, no," Johnson said, shaking his head when asked whether the Steelers were the better team. Houshmandzadeh went a step further and said the Steelers will lose to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. He also said the referees were working against the Bengals. "They want Indianapolis and New England in the AFC Championship Game," Houshmandzadeh said. "You can plead your case with stuff, but it wasn't going to change. I figured they'd let us decide the game." Houshmandzadeh was upset that several pass-interference calls weren't made against the Steelers secondary.

We're used to his dumbass comments like that. And assmop, didn't the Bengals go up 17-7 AFTER Palmer was injured? Maybe if the Bengals D turned in a playoff-type performance they wouldn't have lost. Stop making ridiculous excuses.

Stiller, Very impressive performance by the Steelers yesterday. No panic whatsoever when they were down 17-7. And how can idiots continue to say Rothlisberger is over rated? The guy is pure money and as clutch as they come. Steelers vs Pats in Foxboro for the AFC Championship.

That would be absurd. But it's equally ridiculous to assume Palmer's injury handed the game to Pittsburgh on a platter. As Steelers wideout Hines Ward put it, "He doesn't play defense, does he? You saw it, we went out there offensively and did what we had to do. That's the bottom line. That didn't have anything to do with Carson Palmer." I dunno how we'll beat the "mighty Colts", but i think it's destiny bringing the Steelers/Pats together one more time. Congrats on your win as well. Here's hoping Ben vs. Brady with a trip to the SB on the line.

JerryK
Regarding Hines Ward's comment....I didn't watch the game, but it's conceivable that losing a QB CAN hurt your defense if the backup can't convert a 3rd down. Did Cinci start going 3-out after the injury?

afosomf
I was being F'n sarcastic The bengals lost cause CP went down on 1st play of game. Tx- Get real pats get blown out by anyteam, even Jets if cindy gets a boo boo As far as the pats getting the calls, they do!! Look at the tape, their DBs always make contact past 5 yards, Mumbles is daring refs to throw the flags.

PhinPhan
If it was Big Ben who went down on the 2nd play the Steelers would have lost by 30 points. The better team won my ass. And there should have been a flag on clumsy fat ass Kimo Von how-awful for that late hit on Palmer. Total crap. If I didn't respect Cowher so much I would have to add the Steelers to my most hated list right about now. The Colts will take them apart piece by piece but the most important thing at this point is a Patriots loss. Go anyone playing the Pats!
StillerPaul
Thats why they play the game... On any given sunday... Hey, i know the Steelers don't have much of a shot. But they will show up and play. For those who say our O sucks, look up the stats and you will see that we are averaging over 30 points a game our last few games. This team is playing loose and relaxed IMO. And they went into the playoffs peaking at the right time for once. One thing Cowher has always done is have his team ready and psyched up in the underdog role. Sure we may not be able to outscore the Colts. But i guarantee we'll make the score CLOSE. And since when has Tony Dungy and Peyton Maning ever looked dominant in the playoffs? The Steelers will give em' a good game IMO.

The Steelers/Colts game will be much closer then people think, and the Steelers will have a very good chance to win the game outright. Indy is coming off 5 weeks of non-competitive football. They will be rusty and the Steelers will capitalize on any mistakes. Also, the Steelers did not panic whatsoever when they fell behind 17-7 last week. They just went about their business and played physical football.
PhinPhan
I watched the 1st meeting between these teams this year in Indy and I thought the Steelers played them tough for the most part. But Cowher made some uncharacteristic coaching errors in that game...Namely the ill advised onside kick attempt to begin the 2nd half. Of course the Steelers have a chance...anything can happen in the playoffs. I can't wait to see this game. Even though it was an accident I'm still pissed about what happened to Palmer so I'm going with the Colts...But if the Steelers win I'll give them their props. And I'll be behind them all the way if they end up facing the hated Pats.

It happened to Big Ben earlier this season. No one wants to see those kind of injuries. I'm just thankful that Ben's happened early enough for him to recover and we didn't lose too much ground to overcome while he was out. One could make the case though, that it cost us a division title and home playoff game. Ya don't hear me whining about that though. Injuries are part of the game. Thanks for your support too, TX. I fully realise that Ben may still have some more growing pains, but i'm just as shocked as you are to see so many dis-respecting him and calling him over-rated. I just don't get it. How the hell can he be over-rated when the team has such a good winning record when he starts? Let us not forget that TWO other QB's were selected ahead of him the year he was drafted too.
