Gen X Jet
All that Meth must be hitting the water supply in Western NY. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000620511/article/bills-sign-gm-doug-whaley-to-multiyear-extension Bills sign GM Doug Whaley to multi-year extension 17 By Jeremy Bergman NFL.com Published: Jan. 10, 2016 at 04:19 p.m. Updated: Jan. 10, 2016 at 06:07 p.m. The Doug Whaley era marches on in Buffalo. The Bills announced on Sunday that they have signed the general manager to a multi-year contract extension. Whaley had only one year left on his contract. "We are pleased to announce a multi-year contract extension with our general manager Doug Whaley," Bills owner Terry Pegula said in a team statement. "Doug has demonstrated an excellent eye for talent and has been an asset to the organization on many levels. I look forward to working closely with Doug and coach (Rex) Ryan for many years to come." "I am excited for this opportunity Terry and Kim Pegula have given me and my family to continue to work for the Buffalo Billsfranchise," Whaley added. "I look forward to getting back to work with our owners, Rex Ryan, Russ Brandon and our scouting staff to build a winning team that this tremendous and supportive fan base deserves." Despite a disappointing 8-8 season, the Pegulas announced before the Bills' season-ending win that both Whaley and Ryan would return in 2016. The Bills' commitment to Whaley comes as a bit of a surprise. Whaley's future had been reported at other outlets as in doubt. Whaley's first-round quarterback (EJ Manuel) has not panned out and there had been whispers about Ryan and Whaley being at odds. This extension also follows a report from The Buffalo News' Vic Carucci last week that during Terry Pegula's 2015 post-mortem meeting with Ryan and Whaley, the owner gave the duo an ultimatum: make the playoffs or lose your jobs. If that was the case last week, it appears that the owners have had a sudden change of heart -- at least with Whaley -- given time to process how the season transpired. BowlesMovement
Whaley put a lot of talent out there in Buffalo, the owners hired the right guy to lead that talent to 7-9 to 8-8 every year! And if teams shut down their starters at the end of the season, they could go 9-7!!
Charlie Brown
The truth is most Bills fans are very happy with this extension.....
Spoot-Face
Well, then I guess they can't fire Whaley and give Rex his second GM there any time soon now, can they?

Beerfish
Fools. Whalley did a few good things in Buffalo but in his short tenure he has already shown he is bullied Tanny style by Rex.

Maxman
Didn't they just tell him that he had to make the playoffs next year or he would be fired?

Jetsfan80
Didn't they just tell him that he had to make the playoffs next year or he would be fired? This is the equivalent of when the Jets handed Mark Sanchez an extension because they felt bad for him.
Jet Nut
This is the equivalent of when the Jets handed Mark Sanchez an extension because they felt bad for him. For the 5th pick in the draft Sanchez was awfully insecure. Tebow ruined him. Having a QB with recent starting history caused him issues. Then the Jet looking into Peytons thoughts about playing in NY caused him so much anxiety we had to throw millions his way.
Maxman
The Jets are having a great offseason so far.
