SouthernJet Posted August 9, 2016 Share Posted August 9, 2016 Edelman leaves practice with injury By Mark Daniels Journal Sports Writer Posted Aug. 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM FOXBORO - A day after a promising return, Julian Edelman left practice early on Tuesday with an apparent lower body injury. Edelman fired his helmet to the ground before sitting on a cart with Patriots trainer Jim Whalen. Whalen was focused on Edelman's lower left leg. The receiver also briefly took off his left shoe before slowly leaving practice. Edelman suffered a broken left foot last season and has undergone two separate surgeries on that foot. The first took place last fall, and most recent was this spring. Edelman started the summer on the physically unable to perform list. He returned on Sunday in a limited basis before practicing fully on Monday. Edelman looked great Monday, making several nice catches throughout the day. The receiver started out strong again on Tuesday. He went 2-1 in 1-on-1 drills against the New Orleans and made an outstanding move to shake safety Vonn Bell out of his shoes. But soon after, he was sitting in a cart with the team trainer.
