ARodJetsFan
I'd like to see Marshall and Anderson stick in the WR Dept.
k-met57
seems fairly routine at this point. some of those guys are clearly never going to make the 53. the final cut down will be tough.

Peake will probably make it. Marshall i think is going to be a tough decision but he had alot of dropped passes during the preseason games. I hope we keep all three of them, it would be good to have a couple decent young receivers to start building chemistry with out young qbs who may one day be the face of our franchise. LIJetsFan
Anderson isn't going anywhere! Per PFF, Anderson now leads the league with 203 receiving yards in the preseason and has the second-highest receiving grade at the position.

bostonmajet
You have to think Thompkins will be gone soon enough too; these young receivers look too good and he is relatively expensive. That drop in Buffalo didn't help either.

I take Peake over Marshall if it comes down to it. With Forte and Powell we have two of the better pass catching running backs. Although Marshall plays receiver, I can see Forte lining up in many of the same positions as Marshall. If Marshall sticks it will be because of his special teams ability so he is really competing against Ross. B. And when the ball is thrown to him, he actually catches it and proceeds to gather some YAC; I mean what more can you ask for in a receiver, lol. Tinstar
it's not that he's always open as much as he has some of the best hands I have seen in a Wr since Al Toon .
PepPep
The Roster is starting to take shape. I love it. Its looking solid. Here are the players that got cut, some surprises if you ask me. Deion Barnes (LB/6-4/255/Penn State/Philadelphia, PA) Jesse Davis (T/6-6/309/Idaho/Asotin, WA) Kyle Friend (C/6-2/305/Temple/Carlisle, PA) Shelby Harris (DL/6-2/290/Illinois State/Milwaukee, WI) Jarvis Harrison (G/6-4/330/Texas A&M/Navasota, TX) Ross Martin (K/5-9/183/Duke/Solon, OH) Helva Matungulu (DL/6-5/290/Western Carolina/Kenya, Africa) Lache Seastrunk (RB/5-10/210/Baylor/Temple, TX) Jason Vander Laan (TE/6-4/244/Ferris State/Frankfort, IL) Kyle Williams (WR/5-10/186/Arizona State/San Jose, CA) Terry Williams (RB/5-10/200/Kutztown/West Orange, NJ) The two names that jump out at me are Deion Barnes and Shelby Harris. Both busted their butt in camp and played well in pre-season. With guys like Howsare, Pelon, and Barney still on the roster, not sure how Barnes and Harris get cut ahead of them. Then you look at the O-line and Harrison and Friend get cut. I'm surprised the Jets have already potentially given up on Harrison. And Friend is the only true C on the team and a perfect candidate for PS. A bit surprised he was one of the early cuts.

Sarge4Tide
You can get cut in the 1st round of cuts and still be added to tell practice squad. It's a little unusual but it has happened

varjet
Ross can't be put on the Practice Squad. Jalin Marshall can. They may need to do that. The Jets do get a Sheldon Richardson free spin, so they can keep an extra player and put them on the practice squad later. That means that teams that firm up their rosters will have a harder time poaching him (he would need to be signed to another team's 53). I can't get over the status of the OL. Obviously a big priority for next off season. I think PUPing Breno and hoping he can step in after week 6 could be a good roster management move.
