After the contract was signed, he was injured and never had a productive season afterwards. He stopped being productive before that injury happened. The Steelers, meanwhile, unloaded him for a 5th and were fine at the WR position afterwards.

Wait, didnt you want to sign Demaryius Thomas? I'd don't want either but Bryant is a better risk/reward to take than Thomas.

I thought Thomas could be a solid vet who is a useful role player for a season. Someone a young QB can rely on.

If you're going to take a chance on someone, better to get someone who is young and/or can contribute on special teams. Those roster spots are precious, even on a team that isn't talent-rich. Thomas has had similar numbers to Robbie Anderson over the last two years. He's also much less likely to end up in rehab.

Thomas is a move-the-chains guy, and we just paid Quincy Enunwa handsomely to handle that role. Thomas was also let go by 2 different teams last season. Given that he turns 32 in December, he seems to be about toast.

I have no idea how a thread about a drug addict has turned to this.

You dont have to give consideration to a guy who clearly has the ability, but has clearly shown to not want it. Granted, anyone can change...that doesn't mean a Jets team looking to avoid dysfunction should consider him.
CurtMart
Can you imagine Mart n Anderson stretching the field just before they go out and stretch some rules and laws? Yeah that’s a circus. Can we get Pac-Man to join as well?
Philc1
Bryant sucked last year when he finally got a chance to start Derek Carr went the entire game without even targeting him once now to be fair Carr has become a glorified Captain Checkdown under Gruden and Bryant is a downfield receiver

So we got rid of half the offense to pay him and he cashed in his chips.
