RonaldJet
The talent gap between the blue bloods and everyone else is as drastic as it has ever been. In addition most of these programs are finally adopting “air raid” concepts which further accentuates the talent gap. While it’s fun to see these teams put up a ton of yardage and points I think the transition to the NFL for your average player is more difficult than it has ever been. Quinnen Williams for example started one season and in the majority of those games didn’t have to even worry about run stuffing because his team was up by 40+ points. Had Quinnen gone to Michigan State he would have three years of starting experience and a much better understanding of the position. This issue could be solved if the NFL allowed kids entry to the league after two years in college instead of three. 1
sec101row23
So your solution to players not being ready for the NFL when they come out of college is to reduce the number of years they need to stay in college before becoming draft eligible? Might want to think that one through again...Lol
Jimmy 2 Times
Limit scholarships to 60 players. That will really spread the talent out. lol
Warfish
NFL Minor League Eligibility immediately after high school graduation. 16 teams in larger non-NFL cities. 10 game season Plays a bit earlier than NFL and ends well before the NFL playoffs. Also: NFL Rosters need expanded by quite a bit, and every player on the roster should be active to play every week.
Ohio State NY Jets fan
I think the transfer portal could be used more broadly and really help players develop, just look at the top QB's this year who all got more playing time by transferring Burrows transfer from Ohio State Fields transfer from Georgia Hurts transfer from Bama The top programs have better facilities, coaches, medical, conditioning, etc... there is a reason they get the top recruiting classes but once the depth chart is determined - the kids should be allowed to transfer to get playing time needed to prepare them for the NFL (if that is their goal)

He's getting more snaps than anyone on the d-line of the best run defense in the league. 1
Ohio State NY Jets fan
Also think the running QB is part of the game now - too much advantage to pass up when defenses have to account for the QB, how often that skill is used will depend on injuries but CFL leads the way, NFL will follow

Wait & see when JD signs Yannick & adds another edge Rusher in the draft. You add a couple pass rushers to this group & the return of Mosely, Avery Williamson, this is going to be a bad azz defense! Teams are already having trouble containing Jamal Adams! Add 2 pass rushers, QW, Foley, Shepard, Phillips, & the returning LBs, Mosely, Avery & Cashman in spot duty. Crazy good. The NFL will always have a set number of players that can be active on game day which is several players less than the full roster. I do not see it ever changing because it helps manage a competitive balance for teams with lots of injuries. That said both the game day and full roster size needs to be expanded, and compensatory picks need to go away as they have literally the opposite effect of what they were created for. The idea is nuts. Why, in an age of free agency, should any employer get compensated for an employee fulfilling the terms of their contract and exercising his right to go to play for someone else? It's absolute crap.
