also, just came back from the liquor store to fill up for shabbas and they were advertising something called a bacon mary or something...

no joke, bacon flavored bloody mary.

wtf is wrong with the humans these days?

ok, fine, whipped cream flavored vodka, yeah, whatever.

chocolate whiskey... um, sure, you want to get them started real young on the hard liquor, got it.

but bacon bloody mary? like.... this was a reeses moment waiting to happen?

i don't think even crusher would approve.

it's bacon flavored tomato juice and vodka.

the kind of flavoring they make beggin strips out of.

and it's wrong.

if vodka isn't crap it doesn't need to be flavored with anything. least of all bacon.

and... vice versa on the bacon.

have a bacon sammich and drink it down with a Bloody Mary if you must.

gah. blech.

the bacon cheeseburgers in the panties didn't gross me out this much.

Or you get it from the local butcher, and let him do it.

yes and I make him grind it in front of me and only once so it's nice and coarse, and I watch him trim it first besides.

he does not look forward to my visit but barring that I have to process it and its not the same.

every now and then i mince my own filet cause I don't trust anyone with that and make a very fine burger with butter and garlic but otherwise the butcher can earn his keep.

did you ever have one grind up an onion and bread with the beef for meatloaf? they despise you for it but there's no better meatloaf to be had.

next week we'll talk about how to torture the poulterer.

Never thought of that. Then again, I am not sure we have too many butchers.

they'll even do that for you at the supermarket, but they don't like people to know.

they'll put in the spices too, and whatever else you want pretty much.

and they'll steam your lobsters, and anything else at the seafood department, and make your old bay shrimp and...

their job descriptions are a lot more involved than they like to let on.

I learned these things from watching old ladies... yeah, older than me even... make them do half their prep work, and it's only right to carry on the tradition and show the young ones how its done.

Nothing, which is just annoying.

it's relieving...

easy enough to post stalk and google their trails back to base camp if you put an effort into it I'd think.

but it's usually best to take the humans at face value in imaginary places anyway. some of them break easily.
