Brian Baldinger: Jets fans deserve a Super Bowl this season more than any NFL fan base

I would be so ticked off if the first season in 30 years that I'm not in the stadium is the year that they win it all.  .0000001% chance of happening but still that would be a tough pill to swallow.

yet it would be so very Jetsy.   If the Jets had a Super Bowl season and no one was there to see it did it really happen?

not quite sure what your point is.  are you saying the jets don't spend enough?  that's pretty much an outright lie, at least historically.  in recent times they may not have spent much because they've had a lame gm and coaches who couldn't win.  winners get the money.  plus let's be clear about the players that have been available for them to spend money on.  not many. and guys they do sign like bell aren't able to perform because the rest of the team just doesn't have the talent.

They have not spent to the salary cap since the Rex Ryan era

coincidentally the last time they made the playoffs

it was a decade ago

since that point (2012 election was when Woody's personality went sour) they have been under the cap floor and make sporatic payments to Bell and Mosely and Trumaine Johnson to make them appear like a professional football team

that's just to get them above the floor

they are currently top 5 in cap space for 2020 and 2021 they will have the most in football.

look at Jason's site the numbers are all right there

what are they saving this money for exactly?

Just to piss you off enough that you talk about it in every single post, apparently!

what they are, it doesn't make me mad. that's like hating the scorpion for being a scorpion.

what irks is when fellow fans treat the Jets cap space like it's their 401k

Woody is not sending us all a check for 37 dollars at the end of the year, you guys

No one wants the Johnson's to save money on cap space, if that were actually the plan they were executing.  It's not.

Moreover, the Jets haven't had players worth paying in 10 years.  If we have a few of those guys at one time and the Johnson's go cheap on the salary cap, then we'll have a problem.

Until then you're just pissing into the wind with this argument.  It's a waste of everyone's time.

Is take that Dline any day.

yup...unfortunately the era where a dominant D line is over.   Loved watching those guys play and torture the QB.  Rules changes have neutralized their importance so building a top shelf d line doesn't really matter any more.   Too bad no one mentioned this to MaC.

Well it does have an effect, it’s just that Maccagnan didn’t draft Edge rushers like Klecko or Mark G. He drafted fat slugs with zero ability and big Ego’s.

And run-stuffing DTs.  An actual pass-rushing DT can be a devastating force on defense, simply because the distance to the QB is small for interior DL and can completely shut down short passes over the middle.

That's not what we got from Leonard Williams, and early returns suggest Quinnen Williams isn't one of those either (hopefully I'll be proven wrong in time).
