According to The Athletic’s Arthur Staple, Kakko’s contract has an annual average value of $2.1 million. Kakko, 21, was the Rangers’ second overall pick from the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Through three seasons with the Rangers, Kakko has 26 goals and 58 points in 157 career regular season games. This past postseason, Kakko scored twice and had five points in 19 playoff games. no excuses this year. He needs to justify his draft position. Happy with this extension however. It is cheap enough and I would hate to see him figure it out somewhere else.

TBJ
Kaapo Kakko happy to be back on New York Rangers Kid Line Zdeno Chara holds the NHL record for Hardest Shot with 108.8 at the 2012 All-Star Game. It should be noted that the rules have you start at the offensive blue-line, not the defensive blue-line as it appears Kakko began skating from. Still, 107 mph is no joke and he definitely needs to start letting it fly once entering the zone. It appears that he will put some emphasis on getting pucks to the net more. https://www.foreverblueshirts.com/kaapo-kakko-happy-on-rangers-kid-line/

Good to have you back, Fantastic ride the Rangers took us on last year. I really like the Lundquist deal because it tells us what they feel about the talent pipeline without him. New beginnings probably need a new thread to christen them properly. Go head and make the 22/23 season thread.
