Back in high school we (the team) had a sign for someone to get drilled. If a fielder took their hat off and held it in the air, the catcher would throw the middle finger down for the sign, and it was game on. We just agreed that it had to be pretty serious for someone to do that. Example: You couldn't ask for someone to be hit because you were sharing the same girl for a few weeks and he knew about it but you didn't. The infraction needed to happen on the field.
