MrsTaborJet
When you came to me with your bad dreams and your fears It was easy to see that you'd been crying Seems like everywhere you turn catastrophe it reigns But who really profits from the dying I could hold you in my arms I could hold you forever I could hold you in my arms I could hold you in my arms forever When you kissed my lips with my mouth so full of questions It's my worried mind that you quiet Place your hands on my face Close my eyes and say Love is a poor man's food Don't prophesize I could hold you in my arms I could hold you forever And I could hold you in my arms I could hold you forever So now we see how it is This fist begets the spear Weapons of war Symptoms of madness Don't let your eyes refuse to see Don't let your ears refuse to hear Or you ain't never going to shake this sense of sadness I could hold you in my arms I could hold on forever And I could hold you in my arms I could hold forever
Boozer76
Lessons Learned is a great tune too. Ray has an awesome sound, just unique from anything out there now that I've heard. I first heard a song on the iO Cable Music Choice channels, 800+ and loved the song and bought the album off iTunes. You Can Bring Me Flowers (love the bluesy feel of this one) was the song that got me hooked, then heard Be Here Now and bought the album. Good stuff! It just never ends with the guy, great song after great song. Here's another: Ray Lamontagne Burn Oh mama don't walk away I'm a goddam sore loser I ain't too proud to stay But I'm still thinking 'bout you And I'm so lonesome without you And I can't get you out of my mind Oh mama don't leave me alone with my soul sat down so tight it's like a stone cold tomb Ain't it clear when I'm near you I'm just dying to hear you Calling my name one more time Oh so don't pay no mind To my watering eyes Must be something in the air That I'm breathing Yes'n I try to ignore All this blood on the floor It's just this heart on my sleeve that's a bleeding Oh mama don't walk away You leave me here bereaving from the words so hard and plain Saying the love that we had was just selfish and sad To see you now with him is just making me mad Oh so kiss him again just to prove to me that you can an I will stand here and burn in my skin Yes I will stand here and burn in my skin

war ensemble
Bump? Motorhead- Orgasmatron I am the one, Orgasmatron, the outstretched grasping hand My image is of agony, my servants rape the land Obsequious and arrogant, clandestine and vain Two thousand years of misery, of torture in my name Hypocrisy made paramount, paranoia the law My name is called religion, sadistic, sacred whore. I twist the truth, I rule the world, my crown is called deceit I am the emperor of lies, you grovel at my feet I rob you and I slaughter you, your downfall is my gain And still you play the sycophant and revel in you pain And all my promises are lies, all my love is hate I am the politician, and I decide your fate I march before a martyred world, an army for the fight I speak of great heroic days, of victory and might I hold a banner drenched in blood, I urge you to be brave I lead you to your destiny, I lead you to your grave Your bones will build my palaces, your eyes will stud my crown For I am Mars, the god of war, and I will cut you down. SoFlaJets
great song download it if ya ain't got it and listen to it again-YouTube also has the original video with Bruce's ex-Julianne Phillips looking so frickin hot in those stonewashed jeans-that ass cost Bruce 21 million...worth it? I've been lost inside, empty space in my heart And some things never change, no How it hurts me and how it's tearin' me apart, and it just goes on and on Can you read my mind, take a good look at my face Could you take the time, just to stand here in my place What if I'd been the one to say goodbye, goodbye Could you smile when inside you just wanna cry, look inside Can you read my mind? Oh oh When I hear your name, feel so cold deep inside Still it's hard to explain, oh But you're not meant to be, they say time will heal the pain But it just goes on forever Can you read my mind, have you closed the door on love Can you be so blind, did you think I'd just give up Chorus: What if I'd been the one to say goodbye, goodbye Could you smile when inside you just wanna cry, wanna cry What if I'd been the one to say goodbye, goodbye Could you smile when it hurts so deep inside, and it never fades away Fade away (Solo) Time can't erase the reasons why I count my mistakes and the heartaches since you said goodbye (chorus) Never fades away, no it don't fade away
Larz
pink floyd, one of my turns Day after day, love turns grey Like the skin of a dying man And night after night we pretend it's all right But I have grown older and You have grown colder and Nothing is very much fun any more. war ensemble
I'll try and make a less radical entrance into this thread, from before at least... The Rime of the Ancient Mariner Iron Maiden Hear the rime of the Ancient Mariner See his eyes as he stops one of three Mesmerises one of the wedding guests Stay here and listen to the nightmares of the Sea. And the music plays on, and the bride passes by Caught by his spell and the Mariner tells his tale. Driven south to the land of the snow and ice To a place where nobody's been Through the snow fog flies the albatross Hailed in God's name, hoping good luck it brings. And the ship sails on, back to the North Through the fog and the ice the albatross follows on The mariner kills the bird of good omen His shipmates cry against what he's done But when the fog clears, they justify him And make themselves part of the crime. Sailing on and on and North across the sea Sailing on and on and North 'till all is calm. The albatross begins with its vengeance A terrible thirst a curse has begun His shipmates blame bad luck on the Mariner About his neck, the dead bird is hung. And the curse goes on and on at sea And the curse goes on and on for them and me. "Day after day, day after day, we stuck nor breath nor motion As idle as a painted ship upon a painted ocean Water, water, everywhere and all the boards did shrink Water, water, everywhere nor any drop to drink." (Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1798-1834)) There, calls the mariner, there comes a ship over the line But how can she sail with no wind in her sails and no tide. See...onward she comes Onward she nears, out of the sun See...she has no crew She has no life, wait but there's two. Death and she Life in Death, they throw their dice for the crew She wins the Mariner and he belongs to her now. Then...crew one by one They drop down dead, two hundred men She...She, Life in Death. She lets him live, her chosen one. Narrative "One after one by the star dogged moon, too quick for groan or sigh Each turned his face with a ghastly pang, and cursed me with his eye Four times fifty living men (and I heard nor sigh nor groan), With heavy thump, a lifeless lump. they dropped down one by one." (Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1798-1834)) The curse it lives on in their eyes The Mariner he wished he'd die Along with the sea creatures But they lived on, so did he. And by the light of the moon He prays for their beauty not doom With heart he blesses them God's creatures all of them too. Then the spell starts to break The albatross falls from his neck Sinks down like lead into the Sea Then down in falls comes the rain. Hear the groans of the long dead seamen See them stir and they start to rise Bodies lifted by good spirits None of them speak and they're lifeless in their eyes. And revenge is still sought, penance starts again Cast into a trance and the nightmare carries on. Now the curse is finally lifted And the Mariner sights his home Spirits go from the long dead bodies Form their own light and the Mariner's left alone. And then a boat came sailing towards him It was a joy he could not believe The Pilot's boat, his son and the hermit. Penance of life will fall onto Him. And the ship it sinks like lead into the sea And the hermit shrieves the mariner of his sins. The Mariner's bound to tell of his story To tell his tale wherever he goes To teach God's word by his own example That we must love all things that God made. And the wedding guest's a sad and wiser man And the tale goes on and on and on.
PatriotReign37
The Rolling Stones Time Waits for no one Lyrics: (M. Jagger/K. Richards) Yes, star crossed in pleasure the stream flows on by Yes, as we're sated in leisure, we watch it fly And time waits for no one, and it won't wait for me And time waits for no one, and it won't wait for me Time can tear down a building or destroy a woman's face Hours are like diamonds, don't let them waste Time waits for no one, no favours has he Time waits for no one, and he won't wait for me Men, they build towers to their passing yes, to their fame everlasting Here he comes chopping and reaping, hear him laugh at their cheating And time waits for no man, and it won't wait for me Yes, time waits for no one, and it won't wait for me Drink in your summer, gather your corn The dreams of the night time will vanish by dawn And time waits for no one, and it won't wait for me And time waits for no one, and it won't wait for me No no no, not for me.... 124
Third Eye Blind Semi-Charmed Life I'm packed and I'm holding I'm smiling, she living, she golden She lives for me Says she lives for me Ovation her own motivation She comes round and she goes down on me And I make her smile It's like a drug for you Do ever what you want to do Coming over you Keep on smiling, What we go through One stop to the rhythm that divides you And I speak to you like the chorus to the verse Chop another line like a coda with a curse I come on like a freak show takes the stage We give them the games we play, She said I want something else To get me through this Semi-charmed kind of life (Baby, baby) I want something else I'm not listening when you say Good-bye The sky it was gold, it was rose I was taking tips of it to my nose And I wish I could get back there Some place back there Smiling in the pictures you would take Doing crystal meth Will lift you up until you break It won't stop I won't come down, I keep stock With a tick-tock rhythm A bump for the drop And then I bumped up I took the hit that I was given Then I bumped again And then I bumped again I said How do I get back there to The place where I fell asleep inside you? How do I get myself back to The place where you said I want something else To get me through this Semi-charmed kind of life (Baby, baby) I want something else I'm not listening when you say Good-bye I believe in the sand beneath my toes The beach gives a feeling An earthy feeling I believe in the faith that grows And the four right chords can make me cry When I'm with you I feel like I could die And that would be all right All right And when the plane came in She said she was crashing The velvet it rips In the city We tripped On the urge to feel alive But now I'm struggling to survive Those days you were wearing that velvet dress You're the priestess, I must confess Those little red panties They pass the test Slides up around the belly Face down on the mattress One And you hold me And we're broken Still it's all that I want to do, just a little now Feel myself heavy on the ground I was scared, I'm not coming down, no no And I won't run for my life She's got her jaws now locked down in a smile But nothing is all right All right I want something else To get me through this Life. Baby I want something else I'm not listening when you say Good-bye (4x) The sky it was gold, it was rose I was takin' tips of it to my nose And I wish I could get there someplace, back there In the place we use to start our lives I want something else
L.S. Dylan
Chuck Berry wrote some insane lyrics. This song cracks me up, Chuck Berry / Dear Dad Dear Dad, don't get mad, What I'm asking for Is by the next semester Can I get another car ? This one here is sick'ning On a wide dual road. I might as well be walking As to drive this old Ford. Almost everytime I try To go and pass a truck, If I ain't goin' down hill, Dad, I'm, out of luck. And even if I get by, It's still a rugged risk, The way this old Ford Keep a hitting and a miss. Last week when I was driving On my way to school, I almost got a ticket 'Bout a freeway traffic rule. It's now a violation Driving under forty-five, And if I push to fifty, This here Ford will nosedive. Dad, I'm in great danger Out here trying to drive. The way this Ford wiggles When I'm approaching forty-five/ I have to nurse it along Like a little stubborn pup, And cars whizzing by me, Dad, look like I'm backing up. She just don't have the appetite For gas somehow, And Dad, I got four carburetors Hooked up on it now. I tried to hook another To see if I'd do a little good, But ain't no place to put it 'Less I perforate the hood. Well Dad, send the money, See what I can see, Try to find a Cadillac, A Sixty-two or three. Just something that won't worry us To keep it on the road. Sincerely, your beloved son, Henry Junior Ford
L.S. Dylan
I'm a rolling stone, all alone and lost, For a life of sin, I have paid the cost. When I pass by, all the people say "Just another guy on the lost highway." Just a deck of cards and a jug of wine And a woman's lies make a life like mine. Oh, the day we met, I went astray, I started rollin' down that lost highway. I was just a lad, nearly twenty-two, Neither good nor bad, just a kid like you, And now I'm lost, too late to pray, Lord, I've paid the cost on the lost highway. Now, boys, don't start your ramblin' round, On this road of sin or you're sorrow bound. Take my advice or you'll curse the day You started rollin' down that lost highway
SoFlaJets
Disorder in the house The tub runneth over Plaster's falling down in pieces by the couch of pain Disorder in the house Time to duck and cover Helicopters hover over rough terrain Disorder in the house Reptile wisdom Zombies on the lawn staggering around Disorder in the house There's a flaw in the system And the fly in the ointment's gonna bring the whole thing down The floodgates are open We've let the demons loose The big guns have spoken And we've fallen for the ruse Disorder in the house It's a fate worse than fame Even the Lhasa Apso seems to be ashamed Disorder in the house The doors are coming off the hinges The earth will open and swallow up the real estate I just got my paycheck I'm gonna paint the whole town grey Whether it's a night in Paris or a Fresno matinee It's the home of the brave and the land of the free Where the less you know the better off you'll be Disorder in the house All bets are off I'm sprawled across the davenport of despair Disorder in the house I'll live with the losses And watch the sundown through the portiere

SoFlaJets
I'm My Own Grandpa Lyrics: Dwight Latham, Moe Jaffe Music: Dwight Latham, Moe Jaffe Oh, many, many years ago When I was twenty-three I was married to a widow Who was pretty as can be This widow had a grown-up daughter Who had hair of red My father fell in love with her And soon the two were wed This made my dad my son-in-law And changed my very life For my daughter was my mother 'Cause she was my father's wife To complicate the matter Though it really brought me joy I soon became the father Of a bouncing baby boy This little baby then became A brother-in-law to Dad And so became my uncle Though it made me very sad For if he was my uncle Then that also made him brother Of the widow's grown-up daughter WHo of course is my step-mother Chorus I'm my own grandpa I'm my own grandpa It sounds funny I know But it really is so Oh, I'm my own grandpa My father's wife then had a son Who kept them on the run And he became my grandchild For he was my daughter's son My wife is now my mother's mother And it makes me blue Because although she is my wife She's my grandmother too Now if my wife is my grandmother Then I'm her grandchild And every time I think of it It nearly drives me wild For now I have become The strangest case you ever saw As husband of my grandma I am my own grandpa [chorus]
