The Official Parking Is Gonna Suck Thread

Over the last couple yrs the jets have really started to stick it to their fans...sad really. Considering we haven't won a god damn thing.

Woody Johnson is looking to turn a profit...not win a Superbowl.

Id like to know how Woody Johnson is in control of the construction thats going on at the Meadowlands. Last I checked he OWNED the Jets not the MEADOWLANDS.

This construction project took alot of the parking lot.Take a ride and see then complain. The Jets are trying to do the best they can.

All the tailgaters who took up way too many spots caused this and believe MANY complained.I know a guy who works for the sports complex.Tailgaters saving and taking up spaces was the #1 complaint.

Tell me again WHY loyal season ticket holders shouldnt get 1st priority to park over weekend warriors 1-2 gamers or even opposing team fans.

BUY the parking pass and NO COMPLAINTS.

Some season ticket holders are getting shut out. That is the problem.

Remember though that it isn't just Jets' fans that have to deal with this. Giants fans will have the same problem. Although, they'll probably just all be shuttled in from their retirement homes anyway. :)

POTW NOM. I love it.

Better yet, they will just park at the Sheraton and drive their little scotters into the stadium!

Yeah, that's right, blame the Giants, after all, that is what we are planning to do if problems develop.

Greengal, let me tell you what we like to do here for fun. We have over 15,000 waitlisters, and more signing up every day, so once a day all the top brass takes a break and walks down to the ticketing customer service office and request a printout of the waitlist numbers from 1 to 1,000. We then take that stack of papers and throw it in the air and then wait for them to land on the floor. We pull out a dart and toss it to the ground, and whoever the dart lands on, we delete his record from the waitlist. The person usually finds out the next year, and boy do they get upset, hahahaha. After we toss the dart and pick the name, I have my graduate studant intern clean up the mess of papers and grab me a coolata from dunkin donuts and that is all i need to brighten my day!

The Pats did it without much parking loss and the traffic was just as miserable.....not worse, but not better! Additionally, with Kraft building his ittle community of retail shops, hotels and restaurants next to the stadium - there has been no talk of lost parking - just more TRAFFIC. Love that.:baby:

I went to the Jets-Pats game in Sept. 2001, the last season at Foxboro. The parking was horrendous, I had to park behind a factory about 2 miles away. This after sitting in traffic, getting to the stadium and then being made to make a U-turn to go back to where I had just come from. Part of the blame rests on the lack of parking and part on the stupidity of the Foxboro cops in screwing up traffic.

As long as you got your money in for your parking pass in on time, you should be fine, as a season ticket holder. If you share your tickets, you're **** out of luck but whomever those tickets belong too rightfully, those people should get the parking pass and if you're inconvienced then get your own season tickets and parking pass.

I just cannot wait to hear the stories of the long wait times for the shuttles, the morons that clog the stadium lines because they do not have parking passes, the fans with passes that got to the stadium too late and could not park where they wanted...we should have specific threads just allocated for these

You are 100% correct. Luckily we are not getting screwed over, lol.

But the people who split 4 seats and come from a different area -- sucks being them!

We are not allowed to talk about it. Apparently we don't have the right to bitch, hahaha.

Really thought they better have two big signs:

If you have a parking pass enter here. No parking pass enter here (this one would be a U Turn). Otherwise the lines getting in will be even longer.

Personally I am just going to get there even earlier next year to avoid it all.

Earlier = more time to drink beer!

What is wrong with that?

You were at the game? The one after 9/11? The one where Mo Lewis knocked out Drew Bledsoe and won the SB for the Pats?

I was up on the cold hard bleachers enjoying the game as well.

I don't drink alcohol. I have been clean for awhile now. So the earlier I get there the more temptation I have to deal with. Not the end of the world, life goes on.

Yep. Glad the people we deal with have 6 and me and a friend or my father are 2 and then 4 people always come together for the other 4 seats so it shouldn't be a problem for us 6.

How much you think one of these things would go for on EBay?

You have season tickets you go to all the games -- I bet someone would pay $100 per game for the pass.

I've seen them on websites no lower then $50. If I didn't love tailgating so much, I would probably purchase mine for $150 and sell them for at least $50 a pop online to each game and make some $$$.

The War vehicle? What are we, playing rat patrol in the parking lot?

What are you, twelve?

:rl:

JetMo, good pal, I'm oh so glad you came back!

You can ask people who've seen pictures (johnnygreenballs) about the vehicle I take. I'm glad you can nitpick on every little word!

PS- Do you think your mom will find time on opening day to transport you from the basement to the Meadowlands??

Unlike you, I don't live with my mom.

Don't know if you are j/k about the parking signs but that is a good idea.

Unfortunately it probably still won't work.

I can see a guy pulling up to the booth and saying his dog ate the pass or he left

it in his other pants or his 85 year old grandfather is in there and he needs his meds.

And don't discount the guy who will try to sweet talk the attendant with Hey I'm here

already you might as well let me in.

All these guys will hold up traffic while they get turned around.
