slats
Dolphins have best cornerbacks? Revis begs to differ Posted by Michael David Smith on August 26, 2011, 8:57 PM EDT Getty Images We noted this morning that Miami’s Vontae Davis says he and Sean Smith are the best pair of cornerbacks in the NFL. Word of that got back to Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, and he respectfully disagrees. Revis said the 23-year-old Davis, who’s only played two years in the league, has more he needs to accomplish before he can count himself among the truly elite. “He’s got to play a couple more years before he’s saying all that,” Revis said. “They’re a good tandem but they have a lot of work to do.” Revis said that anyone who doesn’t think he and Antonio Cromartie are the best pair of cornerbacks just need to watch the film. “It really don’t matter because the film don’t lie,” Revis said. “The film don’t lie. You can say what you want to say. You can say the sky is red but it ain’t red. That’s just what it is. We know how we play and we know what we do on that field not just as a corner tandem but as a secondary. We play great football.” Davis may argue with that, but not many others would. Maxman
Revis refutes claim by Dolphins' Davis over best CB tandem Darrelle Revis has some words for Miami Dolphins cornerback Vontae Davis: Check the tape. That's tape, as in game tape. The message was delivered one day after Davis boasted that he and fellow starter Sean Smith -- not the New York Jets' tandem of Revis and Antonio Cromartie -- were the best cornerback duo in the NFL. "He's got to play a couple more years before he's saying all that," Revis said Friday, according to the New York Post. "They're a good tandem, but they have a lot of work to do." Davis wasn't quite as diplomatic Thursday while touting the Dolphins' young cornerbacks. Davis and Smith, both 2009 draft picks, have yet to be selected to a Pro Bowl. "I'm going to go out on a limb and say we're the best tandem in the league," Davis said. The talk didn't seem to bother Revis, who has combined with Cromartie to be named to three All-Pro teams and selected to four Pro Bowls. "It really don't matter because the film don't lie," Revis said. "The film don't lie. You can say what you want to say. You can say the sky is red, but it ain't red. That's just what it is. We know how we play and we know what we do on that field not just as a corner tandem but as a secondary. We play great football."

serphnx
Miami fans should never speak again. I'm amazed that they and the Jills fans never learn. They always run their mouths, get embarrassed, then don't learn the lesson and just do it again. I've met these types of people before. They're the people that are so broken and used to being giant losers that nothing you say to them bothers them. They can get mocked, humiliated and owned but they just hang around until you leave. On one level it is very impressive, but mostly it's just an incredible level of pathetic.
Larz
well, to be fair, they were getting their delicate legs massaged for cramps, on oxygen and getting IV's for most of the game lololololol

SenorGato
Lucky for us our safeties are nothing like that. And our #2 corner isn't tall, skinny, rangy, and a little less physical than the stout physical freak #1 CB. That Patriots passing game needs to get f'd at some point this year. Klecko73isGod
If by "best CB tandem in the league" he means horrifically mediocre, well then I guess he has a point.

"Mediocre" would suggest that they're average. Average cornerbacks don't allow 516 yards through the air. Bad ones do.
JonEJet
I was hoping to see this thread pop up again That was a dismal display by the Phins With no running game teams can key the pass with Henne Just a matter of time before the wheels fall off
