Jets have had scouts looking at a few small school prospects

The New York Jets have been doing their due diligence this year when scouting, they have been following some small school guys pretty hard.

They have been scouting Marquette King, Punter of Fort Valley State who had a few huge punts this year, one for 80 against Bethune Cookman who blasted this punt, it was amazing, didn't not bounce, 80 yard missle in the air.

I have had the pleasure to write articles on all the guys that the Jets have been interested in so far from the small schools and thought I would give you guys a chance to read up on some of the guys, here are the articles I have wrote on all of them

Marquette King, P, Fort Valley State - 60 punts averaging 43.3 yards and the NCAA record for D-2 with an 80 yard missle

Adrian Hamilton, DE, Prairie View A&M - 20.5 sacks led the SWAC and broke Robert Mathis record, true DE in 4-3

Ryan Davis, DE, Bethune- Cookman - Led the MEAC in sacks and was named HBCU MVP for 2.5 sacks at the HBCU Bowl

Honestly, I'm fed up with these picks from small schools. Obviously a punter is a different story, since that's a 7th round pick so no big deal.

You're right. Let's take players from Ohio State, USC, Penn State and the like. That's worked out well in the past.

I don't care if you played for Coe College, the Jets need to get faster and better in a hurry.

Yep. You'd be surprised how many players in this league are from small schools.

Wilkerson? I like him, but why does everyone keep acting like he's a pro-bowler all of the sudden? He's no better than Shaun Ellis. (Though I did like Shaun)

The fact that its even a COMPARISON between Wikerson and Ellis after just 1 year should tell you he's a special young player.

If Wilkerson turn out to be Shaun Ellis it would be a great pick. A first round DE who is absolutely solid all around and starts for your team for 10+ seasons? Ill take that every year

I think he will be. I'd like to see the sack numbers go up but he's pretty solid all around. Batted some passes, forced a fumble, safety, good tackle numbers, set the edge well...high motor. Looks like a good could be great player.

here is a statistic for you, out of all the players in the league, 260 players on active rosters come from Division 2, Division 3 and FCS schools, that is an average of 8 per team.

Not surprised.

Just so you guys know, the three main guys they have been after are Adrian Hamilton, Ryan Davis and Marquette King they have been the guys that have been getting the most looks from the Jets, Ryan Steed of Furman has gotten good looks from the Jets as well, they went to visit him in week 7. I have posted this thread on other sites so you don't think that I am a spammer.

Ryan Davis

Adrian Hamilton

Marquette King

The teams they have talked to the most too are

Jets, Cowboys, Redskins, Patriots, Rams, Bills, and the Raiders, these teams have been the guys I keep running into down here in Florida. I am a scout, I kept the same post to show you guys who they have been looking at, I am sorry the links are not working, and I am not trying to spam a board with my stuff, I was just trying to let you guys know that these three guys have been getting good looks.

As for the others, they have not looked at them, just so you know that I am not trying to spam your board. I have had great conversation so far, but please trust me, go to the site www.optimumscouting.com I am a scout on their board and have been, my name is Damond Talbot @drocksthaparty on twitter.

Thanks again and I hope this clears it up a

I just don't want someone saying that my word is not true, or saying that i am making something up, so I want to clarify that, because I have been reaching out to these other message boards and putting these articles on their if the guy has been contacted by the team, so you can see what you are getting or at least looking at.
