Jets sign Brett Rypien, release Boyle

The question as to why they released Boyle is was he the rat. Was he in a casual conversation with Zach one all players have about their status, injuries etc. And then he leaked it to the press. We don't know and would that precipitate firing the guy after he spent the entire year with the team. It's been a theory and it's actually Rodgers that kind of verified that someone in house had talked to the press about something internal. I don't think anything wrong about Zach talking to somebody he trusted about his options. He apparently never said he wouldn't play.

And if true that he was the snitch....the greater question is....how can we trust an organization that needed THIS to happen to release Boyle.

Wasn't the fact that he absolutely sucked as a player enough to not sign or at the very least cut him in camp and get someone else in?

According to Saleh after the game Boyle left a lot of do-able plays on the field Sunday. Until that last series when he missed an open receiver by a mile and then threw the pick I thought compared to what we've seen this year Boyle was fair. Actually Siemian was worse.

Tim Boyle came into the Buffalo game and was named the starter for the Miami and Atlanta games. His QBR was 12. To explain to you, how bad that is, Zach Wilson’s QBR was 30.

Dude l, it’s dysfunction at its highest level.
They kept the guy in the team from mini camp on

They promoted him to QB2 when QB1 got hurt 1st week of the season

elevated him to QB1 when replacement QB1 wasn’t getting it done

They cut him after 2 starts. How bad of  talent evaluation do you have to be to have this scenario play out. As dumb as it sounds it’s plausible to think they sabotaged the season on purpose.

Boyle sucks but here's the thing:

They knew he sucked since camp. Why now all of a sudden he needs to be released?

Because he actually started a game and was worse than they thought. Makes a lot of sense that they release the player they just benched for Trevor Siemian.

Well a few weeks ago nobody thought anybody could be worse than Zach.

And that was a fallacy........like a lot of us have been saying the issues on offense extend beyond Zach.

IMO Zach was benched to keep the locker room from fracturing.....the reason it took them that long is because they know what they had in the QB room.....absolute garbage

It wasn't a fallacy, it was an exaggeration. Most people were saying that step one in fixing the mess was to bench Zach. Who was the next man up? Boyle. When he played worse, he was benched and then released.

Possibly, which would explain what they were doing (in my head at least). Play Boyle to show that Zach is not the worst QB on the roster, and the release him after the point has been made. Still does not show any reason to suggest he was the rat.
