New season-end NFL injury data

With the league moving off its old-guard coaches and handing over the controls of every franchise to 36 year-old camp counselors, say goodbye to training camp, hip drop tackles, and the kick return and say hello to more roughing calls, “targeting” penalties, and shoddy, disorganized, ref-controlled play for the bulk of every season. Suspiciously, the league has chosen to do nothing about their rampant career-ending turf issues in this new push toward “player safety.”

These are the posts you get on a forum for a team that consistently builds rosters without players that you worry about getting hurt......

They had to have excluded the Jets from this data.

The NFL does this every year—the season-end report showing concussions are actually down! And injuries are down! And everyone loves the new rules! That totally work! And ignore the man behind the curtain! Etc etc etc.

Any data points on reduction of dehydratcussions?

It’s just strange how they can’t do anything right.

And the product keeps getting worse.

It's an incredible case study, when you think about it.  Is there another example of product, where these 2 points a true, yet the product is reaching all time heights of popularity and breaking all sorts of viewership ratings.

Now do league-wide missed tackles.

Would love to see that 5 year chart.

Missed tackles this season doubled due to the Josh Allen fake slide alone.

They could probably invent a very good product that would resemble flag football.  The violence could be eliminated.  But what about the blood lust of the crowd?

its really amazing when considering the jets are literally sprinting in the other direction in terms of injuries

Well, the defense stayed pretty healthy in 2023.  The injuries on the offensive side seemingly every year defy the laws of mathematics…

I’m always wary of statistics, when presented, only show percentages.  A drop from 2 to 1 is 50%.  So it doesn’t take much real change if the data sets are small to effect a large percentage change.  I guess it’s good injuries are down but it also seems this seasons games looked pretty sloppy.
