With 1 QTR of the Season Done Would You Hypothetically Think The Jets Would Be Better With Saleh or Rex Ryan

Would You Replace Saleh with Rex Ryan

  1. 1. You are JD. You've messed up Reddick but have loaded the team to compete and we've seen the glimpse of all-time-great jets football. But after this week, and all the Saleh platitudes, rigidity, and indiscipline, Rex Ryan becomes available to replace Saleh and complete the Jets Voltron unit. Or if he was willing would you elevate Ulbrich? What do you do?

    • Bring Rex Ryan on Board and run it back with an alchemist and true motivator
    • Stick it Through With Saleh, and suffer through his umms and vapid responses to straight questions as to his teams failures to prepare and perform but yeah his teams are also pretty good sometimes
    • Fire Saleh. Elevate Ulbrich. Roll with total rookie and see what happens, Respectfully Decline Rex Ryan.

You are JD

Would You Replace Saleh with Rex Ryan right now. Obvi by now it's understood you can't change the OC bc that side is driven by Rodgers. You could not fire Saleh and elevate Ulbrich? Would you do that if he did not oppose it [he might]?

You are JD. These are your legit options, you've discussed with Woody and Chris and they give you final call.

Simple Question and how would it look

Rex + Rodgers offense for pure entertainment value. The main feature of Saleh's regime is banality and boring. Maybe it'll work but I'd love to see the team, the whole play inspired like those Rex teams. Those teams never had an Aaron Rodgers we were playing the teams with the AR level guys, like even in the playoffs, AFC championship games, with scrubs at QB.

It’s a false choice because Saleh has had to be here for the building part, which Rex wouldn’t have survived either.  Rex is like the cool, crazy uncle who shows up for a few hours on Thanksgiving, but you’d never, ever want him to stay around for the week because he’s a gratuitous clownshoe incapable of keeping his sh*t together for an extended period of time.

who do you take right here right now now for rest of this season and next season which is a recognized superbowl window. Rex is a recognized legend that may have a few tricks up his sleeve after pondering the game fro the booth. basically you have the chance to switch to a new HC now and ownership supports, what do you do, who do you select to fix this and lead this team to a superbowl dynasty for two years

Like, if Saleh gets fired tomorrow? It’s too late for that now because Rex is going to fire Hackett and try to bring in Rob Ryan and his drinking buddy Jeff Weeks. You had to make that call at the end of last season, which they probably should have considered anyway. If they were to fire Saleh in-season, they probably ride with Hackett as HC because that’d be what Rodgers wants and, in the offseason, try to hire Mike McCarthy.

Recognized legend?  More like recognized clown.

The Rex talk is crazy.  Not happening nor should it.

But Saleh showed you very early on what he was and the Jets’ brass for some inexplicable reason (Woody is cheap??) have chosen to ignore it.

How many losses will it take to convince Woody of the most obvious thing in the world at this point — that his HC is a fraud — 100 losses?

Same.  Rex was all smoke and mirrors and in the end, he was terrible.

Saleh needs to make the playoffs or hes gone.

Yes.. what did Rex have?  6 straight non-winning seasons with the Jets and Bills?  Bills couldn’t fire him soon enough.

I get it.  Our Jets have been so bad for so long..we look back prior to the way he flamed out in the NFL with the Jets and then Bills.. and instead see a shining moment or two. We are long suffering… so it’s understandable to see his tenure thru rose colored glasses…ignoring how it finished out for him in the NFL - quite disastrously.

I don't know who the hire next but I do know Saleh is not the guy.  For me the kiss of death was the AR8 hug gate :).  Saleh has been on thin ice for a while now but that was the straw/camel moment for me......and todays loss of course.

Ha!  A very awkward moment that one would never see duplicated..with any other QB/Coach combo.

Someone will need to remind me of how prolific an offensive mind Rex was as HC of the NYJ.

It doesn't take Bill Walsh to realize that Braelin Allen is a more effective runner in tough conditions than Hall, or that you have Aaron Rodgers and 2 huge WR's (MW and Lazard 6'4"+) and 2 TE's you can feed on Play action after running the ball 40 times in the first half... that strategy wins today easily.

I can’t stand Rex but one thing I’ll say is this:

He would have blitzed the sh-t out of Zach Wilson / Bo Nix today

Ulbrich had a successful gameplan vs NE and the blueprint should have been pretty much the same today

Why he chose to sit back and not be aggressive against a rookie QB who hadn’t thrown a TD in 3 games is beyond confusing and just plain stupid…
