I'm with ya Brotha ,all the way to the Big Game and don't look back.

I don't wanna hear nuthin' about "tough schedules" or "weak armed QB's" and "not until Clemens is the starter" crap-it's THIS year!! I was in the 8th grade the last time I saw my Jets hoist the trophy and that's too friggin long

he played opposite JT at Miami-he's a pure DE and they won't screw with that...oh BTW to all the trolls and pessimistic (Jets fans) youngsters here-WE'RE WINNING THE SUPER BOWL THIS YEAR...know it,embrace it and love it

dude, he is 265 lbs, he is not a 3-4 de. he played opposite jason taylor in pass rushing situations where there were 4 down lineman, he did not play 3-4 de.

This is right. Bowens is a pass rushing specialist who should spell Hobson in obvious PR situations. He isnt very good against the run so he wont be an every down player.

Disagreed, Bowens should be the opening day starter at OLB opposite Bryan Thomas...

I guess it would be easier for me to believe we are going to win the Super Bowl this year if I just blindly assumed things without knowing a damn thing about the scheme our team runs and the players we acquire for it.

Oh yea smart guy and what team would that be?

You guys can look at height and weight and determine what position a guy SHOULD play I go by what position he DID play-Bowens played defensive end opposite Jason Taylor at Miami

And what defensive scheme do the Dolphins run?

Bryan Thomas played DE for the Herm Jets. I guess he was still a defensive end last year, right?

look I'm not going to sit here and argue with somebody who lives for internet fights-all I'm saying is this;Bowens played DE in Miami for Dan Quinn who is now running our DL and was signed as a DE by the Jets-if you want to project where he's going to line up well maybe you know something or someone that I don't....

until then I'll continue to think of you and your opinions here like the rest of the board does...you know "disregard" the troll...

Cool, and I will continue to think of you as a homeristic dumbass that knows little to nothing about the game of football.

whatever floats your boat

dickhead

hey speaking of dickheads, the biggest improvement to the jets will show itself again this season with the loss of herm (aka dickhead) & the addition of mangini. I have much more confidence in bowens & coleman contributing this year as they were chosen by eric & not herm.

I think the team will play with a lot more confidence & sean peyton will have the sophmore slump, not mangini.

What about the rest of the team?

A team that played over it's head when most of the league considered it a contender for the first pick in the draft. Now, teams will not overlook them.

all I'm saying jw is this;Let The Troll cite ONE article or blurb that says that Bowens is going to be switched from his natural position which happens to be as an effective defensive end (18 sacks the last 3 years-no missed games) to an outside linebacker and I'll admit I'm wrong-I haven't seen it yet-maybe he's going to line him up out there in his Madden '08 league but I doubt Mangini and Dan Quinn will

JW - They will be well coached. Looking at the Jets last year, you did not see a 10-6 team. They did nothing that stands out. There was no the offense was great. The defense was great. It was a team effort.

IMHO the opposing teams are going to look much harder at the Jets. If they do not raise their efforts even higher, they might have a hard time equaling 10 wins.

I agree 100%. There are only 16 games, who the **** is overlooking anyone? Any team with a decent coach doesn't overlook anyone. Nobody is having a seven game series with the Devil Rays. IMO, the soft '06 schedule is a reason for concern about '07, but being overlooked in '06 is not.

The problem is, they had talent in 06, and 05. People that had them pegged for a number one overall rarley watched their games. You heard it on MNF against the Phins when 2 of the commentators kept saying, "rhodes, coleman, poteat??? have you heard of any of these guys?". These are the type of people that are picking against the Jets. Say what you want about some of our "lesser" positions, but we still have a ton of talent throughout the team. 4 to 5 good, young line backers, D-rob, Ellis, both receivers, the Jets are not "untalented" as so many make it seem.

With that said, it will always be a struggle to get 10 wins, this year should be no different.

I agree that getting 10 wins will prove difficult in 07. I think there's more to it than raising efforts due to being gameplanned against harder. Last year was a total transitional period as there were new systems, new staff etc. I think with the additions on d along with a year of experience running the 3-4 d will show our d to be greatly improved.

don't know much about cuff fatigue but am hopeful that the addition of jones & another offseason of chad being healthy will have positive effects on our offensive.

But most importantly I believe in this coaching staff and feel strongly that they have this team heading in the right direction and will be fully capable of having them play as a team again which is the #1 reason for our success. we played as a team.

spin classes aren't just for excersize anymore ya know

hey I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong JW-no genius I, that's for sure. It's just that I just hadn't read anywhere that he was going to be lined up at LBer-especially inside-I can see him outside ala Bryan Thomas maybe...but NFL.com has him inside which is kind of baffling to me....

LOL-we're staying out here in the rich part of town in Wellington right around the block from Bruce and Tommy Lee Jones and we're still trying to find our way around since a lot of the roads are big circles-so I say to my wife "no this road takes us to Greenveiw not Aero Club" (where they land planes in their back friggin yards) and she says;"you're right" I tell my son to mark this day down...she just laughed

NFL.com has these things wrong a lot, as the Jets have not released a roster and they must speculate. They also had Harris outside in that listing, which is not impossible, but he will likely line up inside for the most part. At least he damn sure better, because I just spent twenty minutes creating my new sig!!!
