Even Miami Players Don't Like Ginn Pick

This articles pretty funny it basically has quotes from a couple of the vetern players saying the pick was retarded. :)

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/michael_silver/06/07/ginn.dolphins/index.html

My personal favorite quote

Holliday says. "I mean, the setup was perfect. It's hard enough to get the fans (in South Florida) to come to the games, and now you piss them off? But hey, they must have a plan."

Even the players admit South Florida fans suck!

anybody else find it funny that all the fins they interviewed didn't even bother to watch the draft? thomas was walking down the street and vonnie was grilling when his wife had to "deliver" the news. i guess i can sort of understand not watching the whole thing (although you'd think most players would be keenly interested), but you can't put down the tongs to watch your team pick? and the fins wonder why the fans don't care-- the players don't even care!

We jets fans wont like the pick either when he returns a couple kickoffs for td's against us this year.4.29 thats fast fellas.

Well, I think we'll be on the lookout for Ole Gimpy. Besides, whose side are you on?! Maybe you should add some bran to your diet. :)

He won't be anything that great in returning and he will be a horrendous receiver. He is a bust.

True, but even if he turns out well does any one buy into that their qb beck is really better or as good as quinn is supposed to be. I still think that Miami would have been better served by picking up quinn

I think the odds of a qb being a complete bust are much greater than a return man with 4.2 speed.

Er, you got a problem with that? :)

The NFL draft is like the Stock Market and the ponies. You can study it and still be the world's biggest loser. Nothing new there, but let's hope they made the most errant choice in the universe. It would please me.

Lets see:

Option A:

A Quarterback who started all 4 years at Notre Dame, was a Heisman Trophy candidate his last 2 seasons, led Notre Dame to what? 1 or 2 BCS games? Has a strong arm and could start from Day 1.

OR

Option B:

A Wide Receiver who was hardly a Wide Receiver at all in college, more of a return specialist who made a few nice long runs and catches against the Michigan State's, Western Kentucky's and Northern Ohio's of the world. Ted Ginn is not a polished Wide Receivery any mean and he was selected 9th overall to be an NFL slot man and a PR / KR.

I don't even like Brady Quinn, at all, as most of you know. But, I do think he will be a guy who can lead a team to some successful seasons, not a Super Bowl without tremendous talent around him, but at least can lead the team to a contender's status. Ted Ginn will be nothing more then a slot WR and a return man.

Smooth move Miami.

Uhuh... if his foot is ok.

If he fits in and if those aren't the ONLY points they score. :)

There is not enought bad things that can happen to Miami.

They are a such trainwreck in progress. It is great to know that guys like Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas will never see a post season again in their careers the way the Dolphins are running things right now.

Just warms the cackels of my heart. :P

Agreed.

The Miami Dolphins are a laughing stock organization. The best move they've made in 5 years was the one they made the other day in bringing in Trent Green to hold down the fort for a few years.

That was the best move after making a horrible move in not picking up Brady in the draft.

A 26 year old rookie? Come on.

Indeed.

Brady Quinn, with 4 years of starting expereince at Notre Dame or 26 year old John freakin' Beck, all together now... WHOOOOOO!!!!?????

Dumbass draft by Miami. They deserved the lone F of NFL off-seasons when grades were given out by The Sporting News.

To think they could have gotten Quinn AND Green... now that would have been bad for the Jets... Green plays a year or so, teaches Quinn the game...

Man, I am so glad they are dumb.

Was thinking the same exact thing the other day. Green could've tutored Quinn for a year, maybe two, and that would've set up the Dolphins for at least 10 years. Now, well, they have Green for a couple years but nobody to come in after he is gone. Well, thats not true. They can rely on John Beck because, ya know, he'll be a "young" 29 when Green is ready to venture off to retirement.
