And on to Staurday's games:

BC 4 @UMass-Lowell 4ot 1 Stupid Bloke

UMass 4 @Northeastern 1

BU 2 @Maine 2ot

Vermont 4 @Merrimack 3

UNH 4 @Providence 2

Northeastern 31

Boston University 30

Vermont 27

New Hampshire 24 Home for 1st Round

Mass.-Lowell 23

Boston College 21

Maine 17

Massachusetts 17 Watching on NESN

Providence 12

Merrimack 8

That tie really stung. The crowd was a little over 6,000 and Lowell had the place rocking by scoring 11 seconds into the game and taking a 4-2 lead in to the 3rd period.

Unfortunately BC decided that getting their arse kicked in 5 straight periods wasn't a good thing and thoroughly outplayed Lowell in the 3rd.

Lowell outplayed BC in OT but couldn't score.

On to UVM where I'm sure Lowell will revert to form and drop both games.

The regular season and post season titles are BU's for the taken.

Crazy Friday night. UMass scored 11 seconds in to the OT to pull out the win over Maine while Lowell scored with 26 seconds left to force OT and end up with the tie.

I'm sorry to say mate but I would welcome a BC win tonight. If Lowell pulls off the win then they would be one step closer to getting home ice.

Vermont v Maine (2x@Maine)

Riverhawks v Huskies looks like the series of the weekend. The rest are match-up between the top and bottom. As Chris Berman says, "that is why they play the game."

With UMass' performance this past weekend, they have clinched a playoff spot in this year's hockey east tournament.

http://board.uscho.com/showthread.php?t=82119&page=4

Congrats and I look forward to another 2 game sweep in the playoffs this year. Just not sure if I want it to be BU or Northeastern to kill another season.

Go with NU. Something different I would think.

But you'll lose all the same

NU made a nice statement this weekend.....I know they were just ties, but after the beanpot, a solid showing was necessary

They did. I figured they were going to roll over.

NU will dominate Lowell....different league of talent

2 game sweep

Lowell has played 7 of its last 8 games on the road (Friday will make it 8 of 9) and has gone 5-1-1 in those games. They shutout BC & UVM.

I'll be there Saturday night and fully expect a crowd over 6,000.

Don't sleep on Lowell. They are better than you think.

The real NU is kaput this year, ever since the announcement of the move

to the Atlantic HOckeysuk league, the team has spit the bit.

Hey Gainzo....crawl back in your hole

Crawl back in my hole? I went to both games this weekend and Matthews is an absolute ****hole. What a dump. Only 3,000 showed up on Friday night while 6,000 went to the game in Lowell.

NU outplayed Lowell on Friday night (the 5 NU power plays in the 1st period helped).

Lowell completely outplayed the Huskies last night outshooting them 33-17. Unfortunately for Lowell Theissen is an awesome goalie.

I will give NU respect if they win the Hockey East Tournament.

Much to do in Beantown for the students

Nothing to do in Lowell, except for a a little cow tipping

NU needs to get to Hockey East final against BU

At that point, they're in the post season, and anything can happen

Theissen is an animal

I guess you have never been to Lowell. It's a City.

NU goes as Theissen goes. If he has a bad game you guys are screwed.

You're right though, Matthews is a hole. Older than dirt. I haven't been inside that place in ions.

Matthews smelled like stale sweat when I walked in the place. The beam to my right was awesome as well.
