SouthernJet
Well we all know he is coming to camp soon to keep his gamechecks. This situation is played out in several other teams but notice that those other players have reported. If anyone questions Abrahams heart look no further than this turd waiting till the last possible moment to report to keep paycheck. Does he care about Jets chances with a 50% Abe at KC? Nooooooooooo. Other players have said , 'OK, I am pissed but I will get in at leat to play the last 2 exibtion game or at a minimum 1. But this turd will play it out till Sept. 6th. Mark my words,,,He will come in for a physical on the weekend before 9/6. He has made his point, IF he cared about the team he would come in now and have a week of practice and play a bit next week...a HUGE TURD.... PETROCK
It's time to get this whining a$$***e off of the team. I'm sick and tired of his whining and his nonsense. Either you're on the Jets to contuibute or you go. You don't bi**h and whine that you didn't get paid enough money. Grow up Abraham!!! Look at how many pay cuts Curtis Maritn has agreed to. He agreed to those pay cuts for the betterment of the team, for other players that could help the team. Abraham is all about himself. He has to go. mbn007
If Abe would have kept his mouth shut, showed up at camp, played his heart out, and had a dominating season, the money would have been there at season's end. Now? Very unlikely he gets any kind of long term deal from the Jets. I expect him to be franchised, or traded, a la Santana.

Cant Hackett
Abraham needed to follow the Yellowbrick Road to get a heart. Problem was he turn onto Goldbrick Road.
Maxman
Abraham needed to follow the Yellowbrick Road to get a heart. Problem was he turn onto Goldbrick Road. That is funny! His teammates respect his pursuit of the almighty dollar. The fans can call it like they see it though. He is going to come in and get hurt. Then we gave him 6.7 million for nothing. I hope that is not the case but I fear it is.
faba
Just like any group of workers in an organization the other players want to see contracts go up and up so they will get more money when their time comes The regular fans and working people rightfully see a pattern of being injuried and missing big games-selfish instead of teamwork
Barton
Exactly. Abraham will not be the sackmaster week 1 if he does not report soon. If he reports in the next few days, he can practice and play in a preseason game to get his feet wet. Week 1 he'll be going up against a great LT in Willie Roaf. Abraham will need to bring his A GAME, to make a difference. Holding out and being a whiny b*tch will not help him or the team that day. He is such an a**hole. He says he'd be fine if the Jets tagged him in the offseason with the franchise tag. Then, once they do, he gets his panties in a bunch and holds out for a long term deal. What a di**wad! You cant even play a fullseason and you want a longterm deal? Go play in traffic, you piece of sh**.

Those people over there would be happy has hell to have Ken O'Brien back and Boomer Esaison as his back up, and have Brady back as TE.

GreenBeans
That is funny! His teammates respect his pursuit of the almighty dollar. The problem with JAbe is not the pursuit of a payday (more power to him) but the fact that he welcomed getting tagged publicly and then held out. If he keeps his mouth shut in February I'm not so pissed off about what's going on now. JAbe is either stupid or has a terrible set of people giving him advice. I vote "C", all of the above.... Smizzy
I don't care if he breaks the NFL sack record in the first game alone. **** John Abraham and his tiny little chicken heart.
TaborJet
1- play the whiner this season - he still can be a pass-rushing force. 2- tag his sorry ass at the end of the season. 3- trade his to a desperate team who has money to piss away and take 2 #1's for him. 4- have a hell of a 2006 draft. TomShane
He's a bitch. He'll get his money, then sprain a toe and sit on the sidelines all season. Total poontang. F John Abe. He's dead to me.
sirlancemehlot
You have to wonder about his character. Forget the games and the distraction and the mess he's made of this entire thing. Forget that he's got the worst track record of any complainer in the league. Forget that he had substance abuse issues, not playing issues, injury issues, etc. etc. The fact is, everyone (even his teammates who are keeping quiet because they have to), think he's a selfish whiny softy. If I were in his shoes, I'd sign up and play for no other reason than to show my mettle. He has no problem, however, holding out even though his fans and his team are disgusted with him. There are guys in this league who are underpaid..who've remained with their teams after turning down bigger money elsewhere. There are guys that have taken paycuts to help their teams. There was even a guy (bless him) that left his team, contract, and money to go fight and die for his country. Yet J. Abe backpedals, holds out, and turns his back even when the team, fans, and the rest of the league think he's a coward and a fool. What kind of man could sit on his couch without defending his own honor under such scrutiny? Shame. The man has no shame.

Even when he comes back, he'll play only on obvious passing downs. Thomas might wind up working out after all. Compare it to Walter Jones, another big whiner about his contract. But big difference-Jones as an LT is in there every play on offense. Same with Hines Ward, a guy who has a legit gripe about his contract. I don't think Abraham's agent has really though this through. Edwards and the Jets stick by Abraham through the DWI mess. He says last winter he'd sign the tender and now goes back on it. If a GM is signing a player long-term to top dollar they have to know they can depend on him for top flight production, and they can sell it to an owner and a fan base. You cannot based on his career so far justify anything like that with Johnny Abraham, nor giving up 2 top picks, though we can always count on the Skins and Raiders to make poor decsisions. Barton
Oh, what I would do if we could have traded John Abraham for a first rd pick and drafted Demarcus Ware. Ware looks like a damn animal out there. He has such a quick first step, its just unfair.
