Are you insane? The Jets have nothing but huge young studs on their DL. David Harris is the best LB on either team too.

Agreed. Other than Wake, where do the Dolphins have the advantage?

Pouha and Devito are excellent 3-4 defensive players and have anchored an awesome run defense the past two years. We're lucky to have Devito who gets payed little and graded out as the best 3-4 end against the run last season.

This. You could switch the rosters and rex would still lead the jets to a better d.. Chicken salad out of chicken sh*t.

Pretty much. I could sit here with this troll and play the, Cameron Wake, blah blah blah, Vontae Davis, blah blah blah, Karlos Dansby blah blah blah Jared Olderick. Blah blah blah, Revis and Cro, blah blah blah, Pouha and DeVito, blah blah blah, Harris and Scott blah blah blah, Wilkerson and Ellis.

Does it matter. No. Why?

Rex Ryan.

The Dolphins defensive line sh*ts on the Jets DL. Randy Starks, Kendall Langford and Paul Soliai are better than every player on your DL and Tony McDaniel would start on more than half the 3-4 teams in the NFL.

And Karlos Dansby > David Harris.

So even though the Jets D line was pretty much decimated by injuries last season and still was better than your mediocre team by every metric and Harris is better than Dansby in every metric you're a dolphins fan so we should take your word for it. OK.

The Jets lost Jenkens and Patiotua last year and were playing with scrap heap players at LE most of the 2nd half and they were still 3rd in the NFL against the run. Now they added 2 HUGE ends in the draft and Patiotua is back. Apparently the dolphins who didn't add anyone are gonna be better.

So because you use the word metric we should take your word for it?

Fact: The rotation of Starks, Langford, Soliai, McDaniel and Odrick TRUMPS the rotation of Devito, Ellis, Pouha, Wilkerson, whoever other scrubs you wanna run out.

Fact: Karlos Dansby is a better player than David Harris. Albeit not by much, as both are elite, but Dansby is better. He had a down year in terms of making big plays, but most players do in their first year in a scheme.

So our DL is better all the way across. Then:

Wake > Pace

Danbsy > Harris

Scott > Burnett (but this gap has closed compared to what it was when we had Crowder.)

Misi > Thomas

Revis & Cromartie > Smith and Davis (but these guys are just continuing to get better.)

Leonhard > Clemons

Bell > Smith

We didn't need to add anyone, we were DOMINANT up front last year. We retaining Solai and McDaniel and get Odrick back this year. We upgraded at linebacker, Davis, Smith, Clemons, Misi and Carroll are all a year older in the system. We built this defense right, beleive it or not.

If you were so DOMINANT why were the Jets better in every defensive metric and counting stat? Better against the run, more sacks, less yards given up and the jets cleaned up in all the defensive metrics.

Only thing I disagree with you on is Dansby vs. Harris. Other than that, you're right and people are just being homers. The Phins have a better defense. Fortunately for the Jets, we have Rex Ryan to help compensate for the difference in talent.
