The Dolphins publicly have acknowledged that running back Ronnie Brown will miss Thursday night's game against the Panthers due to a foot injury suffered on Sunday against the Buccaneers.

The Dolphins have not publicly acknowledged that the team fears Brown will miss the remainder of the season.

Per a league source, the current thinking is that Brown will not be able to play again this year. Of course, this could change based upon the advice of the specialist that Brown eventually sees and the success of rehab efforts.

The challenge for the Dolphins will be to decide whether to carry Brown on the roster in the hopes he can return, or to send him to injured reserve and create a roster spot.

Some Fins fans might be wondering why the Dolphins didn't make a run at running back Larry Johnson, due to Brown's injury. The fact that Miami V.P. of football operations Bill Parcells is the father-in-law of Chiefs G.M. Scott Pioli answers that question fairly conclusively.

yeah i heard he might have a lis franc injury. notthat i like to see anyone get injured but fu*k the dolphins. and now that they're gonna have to run ricky like crazy at his age.....i'd be willing to bet that next year neither ricky nor ronnie will be anywhere near as good as they've been this year. with all their needs on defesne and at Te and WR...and now possibly RB.....the phins aren't looking so good. how are they gonna score without their wildcat?

No shock here. The kid is injury prone and cannot take 275-325 in a season to save his life.

Maybe that's the real detriment to the Wildcat.

While it may be effective, RBs get brutalized on just about every play, whether it be as a blocker, or as a runner... Taking snaps as well can't help.

If it's a lis franc fracture he is effed. While it is a small bone it bears a lot of weight and stress as do most bones in the foot. As far as injuries to running backs go, this is pretty significant.

GFY me? GFY you. Go back and look at my posts, I was very respectful of Leon's injury. I only brought it up here to counter the disgusting posts from Jets fans regarding Ronnies injury.

Nobody's ever seen those pics before

When Ronnie took a screen pass for 60 yards against the Jets, did he have a bong then too?

Bull****, you are the most classless dol-fag I have EVER met, that puts you on the bottom of the evolutionary chain. You brought up Leon before anyone said anything negative about Brown. You started the crap. I do not wish or cheer injuries on anyone, except maybe you.

This will be Brown's 4th year out of 5 years in the NFL that he will not play in every game. The guy is like the Chad Pennington of Running Backs. Yeah, he could be great, if he didn't get hurt all the time.

Also, if he's out for the year, that means also for the 4th time in 5 NFL years that he will NOT have 1,000 yards rushing.

Yep, that's right, his best year was an amazing 1,008 yards rushing.

Wildcat formation or bust.
