So Cotchery kind of saw this coming I guess

Yeah he hasn't done much in Pittsburgh, but this was really the first guy to vocally question what the hell this franchise was doing. He had a tough year last season, but this offense certainly misses his presence with 3rd down receptions and overall steady play. Instead we hand over the WR positions to two jackasses who were obviously going to hinder an already crappy QB.

One source said Cotchery was desperate to get out because he couldn’t bear the thought of sitting in the receivers meeting room. He forced the Jets to release him and took a $940,000 pay cut down to $860,000 to play for the Steelers. Cotchery was an irreplaceable leader.

Screw Cotchery. In leading the team in drops despite being its 4th receiving option, he killed plenty of drives himself with a QB that could ill-afford it. He can't get open anymore unless there are multiple other viable targets on the field and Sanchez can't find a 3rd-4th option anyway. His best weapon for getting open is defenses forgetting about him due to lack of use and therefore covering him with a 5'8" tall special teams/dime back (which still works most of the time).

He had back surgery after a terrible season and if the Jets made him the #2 WR on the team like he wanted then they'd be 10x the group of personnel nincompoops they get credit for being already.

That about sums it up. Not to mention he was vastly out-performed by a 5'9 rookie 5th round pick who hardly saw the field at the start of the year. So yeah, regardless of any issues with the Jets this season, pretty sure he was still just a whiny bitch who vastly overvalued himself considering the best offer he could find was to be a team's #5 WR. Not to mention, the reports at the time were all that Cotchery had wanted out back to last season when he was knocked down to #3, and the team seemed to be just fine then, didn't it?
