There is no POTW Playbook. There isn't a set of predetermined criterion which make a post eligible, per se. Typically the POTW revolves around a specific post on the board in which embodies a well-articulated opinion on some facet of Jets football. It doesn't have to be something that everyone loves by any stretch, but being thought-provoking is definitely something that is looked at. As with last week, it can even be comedic.

In this case, we have a post which on its face, was nothing more than a post-game rant adrift in a sea of post-game rants. However, unlike the others, this one grew legs and nearly one week later has produced nearly 900 posts and 10,000 views. Not to be outdone, the author has stood his ground in an onslaught of debate and defended his position throughout.

I can't think of too many posts in the past, especially one with a grand total of 186 characters, generating this sort of response and sustained debate in such a short span. The fact is, those 186 characters have struck a chord with the members of JetNation.

Therefore, it's a little off the grid, but this week's POTW winner is Sperm Edwards. While the post itself is not breathtaking on its face, its impact resonates days later.

Congrats Spermy

2 picks

2 fumbles

How many batted/tipped passes? 4? 5?

4th consecutive game completing under 50% of his passes.

Terrible football player. Terrible.

So a Sanchez sucks post wins in a week where Sanchez was really good? Interesting.

Sanchez wasn't "really good", that's the thing. The running game and defense made it completely unnecessary for Sanchez to throw for more than a measley 82 yards. Sanchez was good at staying hidden on Sunday, nothing more.

Next week, the Sanchez sucks thread will top 100 pages, win or lose, after our running game gets shut down and Sanchez throws up a 16-35, 155 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT's, 1 fumble type of day.

It's Chad 2.0. As long as he doesn't literally sh*t his pants, 4.5 YPA is enough for a pat on the head and an ice cream cone.

No, its worse. So much worse. Especially since all this means is that this organization doesn't learn anything.

With Pennington, he was Rhode Scholar.

With Sanchez, he was pretty with a great personality.

Neither can throw the football.

Nah, not worse. It still can't be worse with Sanchez until he's here for at least another two seasons and starts telling everyone about how great he played after a game where his completion percentage was good, his yardage numbers were laughable, he had no TDs, and he threw a back-breaking INT to end the game.

That said, it's getting there (after all, his post-game PC for the Texans was eerily similar to that) and is still pretty freakin' awful.

"Interesting" you say? I suddenly have a funny feeling we'll be looking at yet another new person running POTW in the not so distant future.

Well, either that or having it disappear for another year or two.

NO! LOL. It's not like that.

I am actually happy an ARod post didn't win. Pat showed amazing restraint.

Pennington retired with the highest career completion percentage in NFL history. So, there's that.
