eboozer
He has gone 2 seasons w/o a spectacular year, he's been known to be a me 1st player, and he'll be on his 3rd team in 2 years. He's had 3 Great years and 1 very good year, and an IR season and a Meh season. No SB ring. If he doesn't go somewhere with a system like Rex runs, where the #1 CB is relied upon to be "THE MAN" I don't know if he gets in. He's stepped on a lot of toes these past few years? HOF players like Deon, had an impact for nearly a decade, winning with multiple teams..... so far Revis has not.
Integrity28
Revis had one, maybe two, seasons where watching him you said... whoa, this mofo is so good it's silly. He's otherwise been a harbinger of doom for 3 straight seasons, and has been better at getting paid and getting headlines than he has been at anything football related for the past 2 years. No.

No. Well said. Let him enjoy his money. In years to come, I bet he'll wish he actually was remembered as one of the greats. Look at Randy Moss.... an incredible physical specimen, who could have been in the Calvin Johnson, Swann, Rice discussion as one of the greatest to ever play his position. Instead he'll be remembered for selfishness, quitting and psychological problems. Revis will be remembered for tearing teams apart.

stugotz81
Rex made Revis the player he was. Like it or not. FACT I concur......if he can return to Rex and not have these dumb contract issues every other year....i am confident he will finish career as one of best corners in history. I guess it could happen if he went to the Browns too but I dont think the big city lights of Cleveland will do him any good

JetsFanInDenver
Let him finish his playing career. He has had 2 low impact seasons. But the Revis of 2009 and 2010 was a first ballot walk in.

#27TheDominator
29 in July.... closer to the end than the beginning. That is an opinion. It is far from a foregone conclusion. Darrell Green and Deion Sanders played until they were 42 and 38 respectively. Both made as many or more pro bowls and first team all pro after their 29th birthdays. j4jets
Revis excelled in Rex's system to the point he became a household name. So no you can't. Revis was a probowl CB before Rex got here. Its not like he was some scrub that Rex picked up off the streets and polished him to the point where we give all the credit to Rex.

pedro55
deion sanders was a money whore, didn't hurt him But Deion had personality and only wanted to play for winning teams. He went to the 49ers & Cowboys, and then the Redskins. He didn't wind up on the Raiders who offered more money. He wanted his money, but he also made a ton of money outside of football, and still is on TV years later making a ton of money. He wanted to win something There are many non sports fans who have heard of Sanders. WHereas there are many football fans of other teams who have no clue who Revis is. That's not really a HOF question, but like a lot of things, Sanders was a huge factor in helping teams win super bowls. Revis is pretty much a guy who is on teams who never make the playoffs. And he doesn't really seem to care about winning a super bowl or getting close to one. As long as he gets his $16 Million per year, he'd be happy playing for the Raiders every year and being on 5-11 teams for the rest of his career. Does that make a HOFer or not? Probably not, but that was the biggest difference between a guy like Sanders and Revis. Sanders wanted money, but he knew how to get it outside of football and he wanted his super bowl rings. Revis doesn't seem to give a damn if his teams go 0-16.

Revis got the Jets to 2 AFC title games with Sanchez at QB. That is worth 3 super bowls with Steve Young.
KINGDIRK
Dude is on his way to Canton - barring another huge injury. For 3 years he played like the best cover corner ever. You don't need 12 years of greatest to get to the football HOF.

Bob Robbins
Revis will be a HOFer IMO. Also it's a little early to gripe about all his moving around when he hasn't even been released from his second team yet. Not to mention he could be coming back to the Jets; at the very least it's foolish to rule that possibility out. We need a CB, there's a report Revis would "love" a return to the Jets, let's see what happens.

eboozer
Could Revis be saying he would "LOVE" to play for the Jets again, as a way of pressuring the Bucs NOT to release him out of embarrassment? How bad would that be for the organization to have the guy they traded a #1(DROY) and a #4 pick for the opportunity to pay him $16 mil for 1 season and have him go back to that other team!! Maybe he thinks the owner will back off after he thinks about the embarrassment of that news and all the crap he'll get from the fan base and press? Admitting you made a mistake and trying to correct it is not worse than pretending you didn't make a mistake. Lovie and the new GM in Tampa are not tied to Revis.
