Sounds like Tyler Eifert will be out for Week 1

In a Q&A on Bengals.com, director of personnel Duke Tobin indicated Tyler Eifert (ankle surgery) is likely to miss regular season games.
ESPN Bengals reporter Coley Harvey recently said he doesn't expect Eifert to be ready for Week 1, and ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Eifert could miss "the first couple games of the season" shortly after he underwent surgery. Tobin made the admission when asked about Cincinnati's makeshift receiver corps behind A.J. Green. "It’s a position group that’s in flux, and it’s a position group that’s going to have to step up – particularly with Eifert out early in the year," Tobin said. Eifert's Average Draft Position has fallen nearly four rounds since his surgery. It doesn't sound like owners should plan on having him available for the start of the season.

The Bengals are also featuring a first-year OC with new receivers; Brandon Lafell and draftee Tylor Boyd.

If we can stall their run game and put the Kabosh on their #1, we can make this a game that comes down to our offense beating their defense...we have the weaponz, we just need decent QB play.

Sheldon Richardson being out ( suspended for the first game) is a bigger loss than the Bengals without their starting Te, and Wlb Vontaze Burflict ( sp?).  How much training camp time does Muhammad Wilkerson miss .( what shape is he in week one) .     The Jets don't have two third of there big horses week one on the defense line,  it won't matter who the Bengals are missing.

Bengals will lose this one by 10. We're a better football team - and we ALWAYS beat the Bengals.

Mo is playing week 1 he isn't going to pi$$ away $1 million dollars per game.  He is also playing for a big multi year payday next season ... So he will make certain he is playing at his best.

Big Cat will be there at the other DE position.

the Jets have 2 big horses to play 2 DE positions ... You need to learn some better math skills!

speaking of numbers ... Anyone at the betting sites see if this adjusted the line ... Think it may have been Raiderfanboy who previously said we were -2 after the Richardson suspension for the game was announced ... And without our starting QB's deal worked out yet

Jets are underdogs in their home opener, Bengals are -1.

mo could sit 10 games ... and then come back for the last six to accrue a contract year and avoid another tag.

let's see play under tag for what ? 1 million a game and risk injury ? or hold out ... minimize injury risk ... and cash in huge in free agency guaranteed money ... seems like an easy choice to me.

You think he's going to get as good of a deal next year if he acts like a b*tch & pi$$es away this season for his team !?!?!?!

Doesn't play any role in another team decision to sign him .    Only way Muhammad Wilkerson doesn't get paid big money in Fa , if he has a serious injury.    He could have a down year , and miss a lot of time due to hamstring problems, and he still going to get paid.( no longterm worries about those kind of injuries).

There is no chance Muhammad Wilkerson misses game one.( what shape will he be in, and how effective will he be is more the question.

Tight ends have been Jet killers, Eifert being out cancels out Daltons safety valve. Brandon Lafell? Not scared, neither is Williams or Skrine. Rookie? OK. Hopefully Bowles learned something last year vs Hopkins & Watkins (stop AJ & Dalton has to dink & dunk) plays right into our NEW LBs hands.

With Eifert out Pryor creeps into the box & cancels out those swing passes & screens to Bernard. Bengals had their chances to make hay the last 3 years & blew it. They've come back to the pack. The last time we got blown out with one of the worst Jet teams assembled, Marvin Jones & Sanu were killing our secondary, both guys left in free agency. Be shocked if Jets aren't 3 point favorites before this game is played.

Marvin Lewis stinks! Jets have actually played very well at home under Bowles. Opening day, pumped crowd, 2nd year in our systems for both the offense & defense. Jets come out playing fast. CAN'T WAIT!
