What an awful trade for the raptors...

Toronto had to make that trade because they're going to blow it up soon.  Don't understand the criticism of Toronto.  It was the Spurs who didn't get enough.  DD is a classic regular season player and the 1st is top 20 protected.

And Kawhi can't just sit out the season.  He'll be fined everyday and lose all his salary.

The Spurs got enough...1.  DD is a solid player who fits the Spurs community...2.  they were never offered Ingram or Simmons and any of the others rumored in the media...3.  they removed the distraction (Leonard was never mending the rift)...expectations are obviously different without Kawhi but ultimately Pop removed the distraction and the Spurs are better prepared for their own rebuild.

Raptors are never winning anything with Derozen.  Leonard is a top 3 player in the nba when healthy.  No way he resigns?  The raptors can pay $30 million more than anyone else under current CBA and Toronto is one of the most exciting cities to live and play in after LA and New York

I agree on the Raptors not wining with DeRozen, but that $30 million more for Leanord is not that appealing because it's on the back end. That is not an incentive for stars to re-sign anymore because they are signing for shorter contracts in their 20s and early 30s.
