(Real or Fake?) Joe Douglas turns Down Jets GM Position

For reference, NFL GM salaries pay between $1-3M as of 2013. If Douglas wants $3M, that’s at the top end.

Rumors are that the Jets are $1M under the asking price. So CJ is looking to pay Dougy middle of the pack. Seems reasonable for a guy who hasn’t been a GM before.

Negotiating in the press never ends well.  Hopefully these reports are just BS/conjecture by writers/bloggers and not intentional leaks from either side trying to use the press as leverage.

Always someone out there who is better and willing to work cheaper. If they aren't 100 percent sold on Douglas than find a better guy willing to do the job for less.

Btw, the Texans just fired their GM, so we’re probably going to lose out on Douglas because Johnson The Lesser had to swing his dick around on the scouting budget.

The good news is we can hire the Texans' former GM.  We've had a lot of success hiring former Texans as our GM.
