Leon Hess was part of a group of people who bought out Sonny Werblin in 1968. Leon Hess had literally nothing to do with the championship team. Through the 70s he bought out his partners. He was not majority owner until 73ish and become sole owner in the early 80s. What is frustrating about Hess was - besides moving the team (something that shall never be forgiven) - he was actually a self-made, wildly successful businessman. But he never held the people who ran the football operations accountable. He was a horrible owner in every way. I agree with this. Leon Hess was god awful. He’s a bigger crook than madoff Yeah, the old man's co. did all of the electrical wiring, cable, security and so on at S.A C. Capital in Stamford, CT some years ago. One day they showed up to do maintenance and were met with police tape and people being escorted out of the building. The whole complex went dark and got shuttered and padlocked in one day. Hard to believe that Cohen was only banned from trading for two years after being fined $1.8 billion for insider trading and never saw the inside of a jail cell. What the frig. SAR I Yeah, thats dead wrong Cohen has 3xs as much money as the next richest owner. 15 billion for Cohen to the Wash owner at 4.5 bil lion is significant. Add to that the fact that every team is starting 2021 with a massive $200 mil revenue loss from 2020, everyone other than Cohen. I get why Yankee fans are feeling the heat from all the good will the man has generated, the baby boss isnt anywhere in the ballpark of Cohen money wise. I never Bring up the Yankees, could care less about them. You cant stop talking about the Mets and Mets fans. Yankee fans cant stop talking about the Mets. No Mets fan is sad

The Steinbrenner's are worth $3.8 billion, that's more than enough to beat the salary cap to a multiple of 18x if they wanted to, doesn't help. 50 minutes ago, Jet Nut said: I get why Yankee fans are feeling the heat from all the good will the man has generated, the baby boss isnt anywhere in the ballpark of Cohen money wise. Good will? That doesn't win baseball games. He seems like a good guy and that's cool. This doesn't affect the Yankees one bit. The Mets have always been a Top 5 cap competitor for free agents and a few million here or there doesn't change the fact that the Mets don't pick the right players. Hell, you just brought Alderson back, yikes. 54 minutes ago, Jet Nut said: I never Bring up the Yankees, could care less about them. You cant stop talking about the Mets and Mets fans. Mets fans disguised as Jets fans have a defeatist attitude, the sky is always falling on them, Eeyore is their patron saint, they taint everything in their Jets lives with the same stench. 2. SNY's Mets postgame show interferes with the start of Jets postgame shows. That ends the interest I have in the Mets. I wish you guys luck. Maybe you'll start having a little confidence and a little self-respect that will carry over to your NFL fandom and help the Eeyore vibe of JN improve.
