Basketball has returned to to the Garden!

Loving the chemistry. Coach T getting the best out of each player. Excited about Quickly and impressed with Barrett and Randle (should be considered for an extension).

Let's stay healthy and let's show the world who is the best and most fun basketball team in NY!

Knicks made the obvious move and hired Thibs as coach

Jets need to make the obvious move and at least go hard after Harbaugh

He seems to be a player moving forward. If he had a full camp Tibs he’d be lighting it up. We need Toppin to get going to take pressure off Randle and RJ.
Very good win.

Toppin’s last college game was 3/7/20.  He barely had a TC and preseason and played like 2 minutes in the first game of the regular season before getting injured and missing 3 weeks.  He will get more run and get to develop his rhythm and timing

once Toppin gets back on track he’s going to be really good

Now that Obi is playing again, Thibs can manage minutes more rationally.  Keeping Barrett and Randle fresh may be the difference in 5 wins vs. losses this year, and ultimately the playoffs.

I am curious about the schedule though.  Why do we only play Washington, Toronto, and Detroit once each (crappy teams), while playing many western teams twice?

I’m not greedy! I’ll take 8th PO spot over missing out completely. Remember we’re not even expected to make the playoffs this season. A lot of games left.

I looked at the ludicrous format Silver and his clowns put together and it’s essentially a 10-seed playoffs with seeds 7-10 having 0 difference

so it would be good to get a top 6 seed but the Knicks can still essentially make the playoffs as the 10th seed in the east

Team is so Jekyll & Hyde.

Yes, we beat GS with Green watching the 2nd half because the refs are idiots, but they looked far better than the team that lost 5 straight just last week.  It's GREAT to see RJ coming into his own as a budding star.  And watching Obi put that dunk in from the baseline was pure joy.  I am starting to really enjoy what they have.  They are sloppy and seem to turn the ball over a lot, but if they clean that up, they can probably hang with almost anyone and should certainly stay in the playoff grouping even if they don't finish top-6.

It’s been a fun season so far.  Certainly way more enjoyable than the s-show we went through with the jets

Question is will they get back to .500 again?

I think they will. I also think if they extend Randall and bring in 1 piece via free agency, they will be a very good team.

Let’s see if they stay healthy.  The schedule has been brutal so far, I thought they might start out 4-19 again

Randle is excellent trade bait next summer

It feels like they play a strong team every single night.  I checked and they do, in fact, have the 2nd highest SoS index in the league.

Does the NBA apply SoS in determining draft slotting like the NFL?

No but it does put a little bit of a more positive spin on the team.  They are constantly playing tougher teams but they are about to go into the soft pocket of their schedule (3 games against WAS and MIA in the next 4).  I think .500 is a great goal for this team and sets them up well for Free Agency and a push to make some playoff noise next season.

If 3 teams have the same record at the end of the year how is the draft order handled? I know if you are a lottery team you get equal amount of balls to those you are tied with. What about those teams who are not lottery eligible.... when you exit the playoffs?

Oh and Perry deserves some credit for trading that overrated glass figurine Porzingis and signing Randle

The New York Knicks have reached agreement on a trade to acquire Detroit Pistons guard Derrick Roseand reunite him with coach Tom Thibodeau, sources told ESPN on Sunday.

The Knicks are sending guard Dennis Smith Jr. and a 2021 second-round draft pick via the Charlotte Hornets to Detroit, sources said.
