I doubt anyone picks them up at this point - I can see the Jets signing them to a future contract on Monday. but this stuff just seems silly at this point.

Black is an interesting addition.  He is big and athletic.  Everyone knew he was going to be a developmental WR prospect with potentual in the NFL. Maybe he has developed?

Alternately, he could just be a big athletic warm body to use on special teams in the last game

Lawson hasn't played in the last few games and this is why.  This is a smart move to avoid him getting hurt and remaining on that contract of 9 Mill for 2022.

Amazed that Black has been elevated.

His college highlights are some of the least impressive I have ever seen.

Big guy, but has very little explosion or separation ability and never seems to make any yards after the catch.

so, after my embarrassment about the practice squad salary, I should keep quiet, but ... I think they are on the hook for his last game as he is vested. anyone? Bueller?

I believe they do, but I imagine the Jets are doing this as a favor to Lawson. He'll clear waivers and can latch on with a team.

Yeah, I would think so, he is free to sign anywhere now, but I was answering another poster's question about this year's cap carryover - I think we are on the hook for his 17th game and therefore it will not affect our carryover - either way, I hope he lands somewhere where he can play (or at least be on a roster) for some playoff games...
