Fan: “Be a man.”

Also fan: “Sign an autograph for me.”

My kids are 6 and 10 and too mature to get Mickey and Minnie’s autograph, but yeah…. Be a man.

I guess dude. But, when your Dad is an Ape a mouse in a dress and a mouse in shorts likely not all that impressive.

Grown men asking another grown man for an autograph are pathetic losers. There's no value to it.  Go grab a cup of coffee and sit by the gate waiting to board your flight like an actual human.
Personally, never been an autograph seeker as I never planned on selling.. I'd rather take a photo with him...

So now we’re going to have a bunch of guys in this thread who spend $200 and up on jerseys with another man’s name on the back act holier than thou about a guy asking for an autograph?

That guy was furious… I’m pretty sure Hall said something other than, “no” when asked to sign.

Just say it was too you. Lol

Please don't act like this fool. These athletes owe you nothing and you're not entitled to an autograph or even being acknowledged.

I got an autograph from Macho Man Randy Savage once.  He was cool as s.

So you’re defending a guy for harassing someone in an airport because some spend $200 on jerseys?
Who cares if the clown was furious or that Hall got fed up with being harassed and told him to F off, enough is enough.

You know how the whole thing could’ve been avoided? Don’t be a jerk and just give the guy an autograph. It takes 5 seconds, and nobody thinks you’re a di*k…or you can big time the guy like Hall did, and be on social media.

And yeah, a grown man who spends $200 and up for a jersey with another man’s name on the back is just as big a loser as a grown man who asks someone for an autograph.

Sorry, I’m of the minds set if they want to give me an autograph fine, if not, I get it, they have shlt on their mind whatever and you caught him at the wrong time and place. No one is is owed someone else’s time.  I’m sure most times most players are accommodating.
Lnow how it can be avoided?  Understand this and move on.  And buying a jersey is nothing like bothering a player trying to leave an airport.  Nothing

My Ladyfriends niece works for Bloomingdale's, and has had the pleasure of meeting Terrel Owens and Luc Robitaille (shes a big hockey fan) along with assorted movie and tv zhlubs. She said the way people approached T.O. was pathetic, and damn near groveling.

My only brushes with fame were Tommy Lee who was pretty cool and Ron Jeremy (I was doing a pd inspection his car. Porn stars don't make for the best drivers. It couldnt be the drugs and unhinged personalities?). He was cool at the time.

My uncle met Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio when they did USO tours in Vietnam. Took photos with them at the time, went to a couple of charity golf tournaments and said Williams was funny as all heck. DiMaggio came off as a bitter old man.

You called Hall a jerk for wanting to get out of the airport.  Then change it up to calling him a dick.

Whatever, I get it.  Another post where you shockingly side against a Jet player, who had to say more than not now.  Again being at fault.

I’m a big time Yankee fan but yes I have heard many times DiMaggio was a wierd awkward guy in real life.  I would have killed to have had a chance to meet Yogi before he died

asking for an autograph is super cheesey and weird. Its not the 20's anymore.

This past weekend I went to a music festival. On 2 ocassions, eddie roberts the guitar god from the new mastersounds was within 6 feet of me chatting it up with the light guy which I had seats next to. I got a lil excited on what my wife calls my "man crush" but there was no way I was going to bother him.

Plus these days ppl sell autographs, its like a business and not about fandom.

The guy was beyond out of line, you should not act like that, on even a human level.

That said, how many times has someone been at a game and been ignored by an athlete for a picture or autograph?  I remember Butch Huskey (yeah, that's a reference) with the mets, before camera phones, when kids were calling him over for an autograph, he said "Do I bother you where you work?"

Players get paid to sign now, it is a business both ways. Was this guy likely looking to flip the autograph, sure, but there are players that refuse to sign now unless they are being paid to do it, so the business aspect is a two headed monster.  Hell, there are signs posted at Training Cap from the NFLPA saying do not ask for autographs.

Are they real people? Of course, but they are privledged enough to be famous and should appreciate the support when it is presented in the right way.  Why say no if someone asks for a picture or autograph?  Its a few moments out of your day to make someone else's day, or life.
