124
Jets | Team appears to be targeting D. Ferguson or M. Williams Fri, 21 Apr 2006 23:06:48 -0700 Dave Hutchinson, of the Star-Ledger, reports the New York Jets appear to be targeting North Carolina State DE Mario Williams or Virginia OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson in the first round of next week's NFL Draft. "We need help right now," said one Jets official, who requested anonymity to avoid revealing the team's thinking. Moving up to acquire USC RB Reggie Bush is intriguing, but NFL insiders say it would cost the Jets their two first-round picks (fourth and 29th), a third-rounder and a second-rounder next season to get the first pick overall from the Houston Texans. The Jets, who need quantity as well as quality, appear more likely to trade down than trade up but are expected to stay put at No. 4. Jets | Pennington showing progress Fri, 21 Apr 2006 23:06:11 -0700 Dave Hutchinson, of the Star-Ledger, reports New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum said QB Chad Pennington (shoulder) is "throwing and making good progress." He said he's not sure how much the quarterback will do at minicamp, which begins May 12.

VINBLEEDSGREEN
great news about Chad. hopefully his progress will continue and maybe in Week 1 this season the receivers on the other end of his 30 yard passes will not look like punt returners waiting for the ball to drop downfield. DANGER!

PeterNorth09
I would take neither. Give me Ngata or Vernon Davis.
madmike1
I'm not sold on either of them. D'Birck can't run block and Mario is a 4-3 end who takes plays off...

shutout
shutout, I don't have a snoball's chance in hell. Right Beans? Well,I didn't mean you would win. I mean, when Beans names the runner up POTW after you, odds are you're never gonna get it. But this one is POTW worthy from anyone but you.

Although I think Hutchinson is one of the best beat writers if you read the article it comes as no shock to anyone that the jets need help. The janitor could have told him that. Also he doesn't say that the source says we are looking at mario and brick he says it "appears" they are looking at them. His speculation. You sometimes have to read these articles twice to get the right meaning.

Bugg
Pictur Bradway, setting up a secet rendevous, wearing a trenchcoat and fedora, meeting beat reporters on a rainy night in a dark multilevel parking lot in an AC casino(close to Terry's house), giving that tidbit under anonymity. "Hold it-no closer!" as he shines a flashlight at Hutchinson, while Canizzaro stays in the car eating a Big Mac. Cimini and Lang know better, since they know Bradway's done. More Clarence Beakes in "Trading Places" than Deep Throat in Watergate. Canizazaro asking, "Cut the crap Terry-you got any ketchup packets in your console?".
