CrazyCarl40
As much as I hate the Yankees, all of baseball deserves a big asterisk. And it isn't like you can take away accomplishments from teams for the actions of a few players. Plus, it seems like every team had someone doing it at some point. It's a tragedy. 124
Damn,,big news with ramifications on division crowns won.. It depends when these steroids were used. Were Clemens and Pettitte getting these back in 2000 or was this from their days in Houston and just last year in New York? Was Nosemar getting these in Boston, L.A. or both? Pujols is the biggest name there that nobody knew. So much for him being such a great person. Damon, was it in Boston and New York or just one of those two places? These questions need to be answered.

rillo
Yankee haters will be calling for the asterisk. However they never tested for steroids before....so its a moot point IMO. Same with Bonds, everyone in the MLB knew this was going on....no doubt in my mind.

mbn007
If the rumors are true, then Trot Nixon, Damon and Varitek from the 2004 Bosox are on it, so that title is "tainted" also. IMO, since there probably were 300 other players using roids besides those on the list, then nothing should be done, because it was a level playing field. they all cheated. But the only ones who will suffer are those who get listed somewhere "official", like the Mitchell Report, or who failed a drug test. These guys will suffer in the court of public opinion. Like McGuire and Palmeiro. I doubt either gets into the HOF, although both have the stats for it.

Mavrik
The entire league gets one. Not just the Yankees. There aren't the only team that has fielded roiders. Like Mitchell said, everytime has at least two or three guys who they found out were roiding.
AVM
Either the enitre league gets an asterisk or nobody does. Id say every team with players in particular. Dont bring down guys such as(since he's been named in this thread) Rivera or a guy like Greg Maddux. Id love to name a bat, but theres no name that can be thrown out there thats big time the past 10 years that doesnt AT LEAST have speculation. If anything, this makes guys like Rivera and Maddux, who have pitched against these 'roids users better in my eyes. Kudos to those guys for being HOF calibur guys, the right way. Boozer76
Damn,,big news with ramifications on division crowns won.. Absolutely not, but only for the fact that the Mitchell report examined a timy fraction of the evidence that spreads throughout baseball. If a truly thorough investigation took place that investigated potential deakers for ALL teams and it turns out that only the Mets trainer, Yankee trainer, and Balco were truly in fact the only offenders of all of baseball then yes, the Yanks should get an asterisk. But truth is every team probably had a Rodomski or McNamee and every team probably had a +30% usage.

drago
don't teams need to have won something to have the *? The guys they won championships in the past with, were mostly blue collar. Once they went after the big names they are just another team that can't get it done when it counts.

Now, I would say that maybe the relative wealth of a franchise and it's players might lend a higher percentage of it's players using roids. Better to be the 9th best player in NY or Boston then the best player in KC. Most players are going to use something to try and stay with their contemporaries. What and how much is another thing altogether.
