Ochocinco hints he’s heading to the Patriots

Albert Haynesworth may not be the only new arrival in New England this week.

Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco is dropping hints that he’ll be a Patriot. And he’s dropping the hints in a most unusual way.

James Shively (@JC_Shively) of Cincinnati has a Twitter page. Earlier today, he complained about persistent rumors and reports that Ochocinco will be cut.

Wrote Shively: “So much 4 @ochocinco getting cut by the #Bengals… Media dont know squat. Always tryin 2 stir drama up.”

Shively received a “direct message” from Ochocinco. Said Ochocinco: “Media knows nothing but I’m going to enjoy clam chowder.” (We’ve seen the screen shot of the message.)

For those of you who are still using far lamer social media like Facebook and MySpace, a “direct message” is a device for sending a message to only one follower. Ochocinco would have known about Shively’s comment because users can see at any time a list of all tweets in which their Twitter name (in this case, @ochocinco) is mentioned.

For example, Ochocinco doesn’t follow the PFT Twitter page, but he routinely to reacts to tweets in which we mention him, often with a threat to “whoop [my] a$$.”

We don’t put any more stock in this one than we do in the fact that, on Wednesday, someone with the Eagles listed “Rodgers-Cromartie” among the various players whose jersey could be ordered via the online store.

Then again, Rodgers-Cromartie is now an Eagle.

YESSS!! Another douchebag player for a douchebag organization. And I love how they consider the jets a classless team yet the pats sign cancers like Moss, Ocho, and Haynesworth all in just 3 years difference. But oh yes the Pats can do nooo wrooong!

I think Ocho has seen his best days, that's for sure. Definitely on the decline. Do Not Want. But I have never heard of Ocho being a "cancer." I have never seen his name(s) on a police blotter. I think it's unfair to compare him to Moss or Haynesworth in that regard.

Ocho will be trashing Rex every week.

Its going to be great.

Thats cool. Rex will do his trashing on your team on the football field. But hey, you Pats fans already know that so why do I even bother. Just accept theres a new sherrif in the AFC east and it wears green and white.

Agree and disagree.

Disagree - He's got plenty left in the tank. The dude is in outstanding shape and can still ball. He's just been playing on an inept offense. He'd be scary in NE.

Agree - he's boisterous, but not a cancer.

He's cancerous to a QB. Just ask Carson, Ocho helped make him decide to retire other than risk playing another year with his nagging, whiny, gimme the ball-unhappy a$$...Yay for Brady hahaha.

Yeah I hope that to but let's be serious, BB is too good of a coach for that to happen. He would just cut Ocho. The Bungles and Lewis just suck. Still, imagine TO and Ocho pestering Brady? He would go nuts, and I'd love it! Palmer was too classy to really say anything at all the entire year.

But those last two games when they were out was telling. All year long the two divas dropped balls and missed passes, flopping around and acting like Palmer just threw bad passes. Then in the final two games Palmer hits everything because his receivers actually go to catch the ball. I think that pretty much did it for Palmer, and also it should have shown every GM how useless TO and Ocho are. Outplayed by third stringers haha.

USC QBs suck.

Ocho has a real QB throwing him the ball now.
