Freemanm
Did someone say Holmes wants to remain with the Jets? I guess he figures that no other team will want him, and that his only chance for another payday is to stay with the Jets. Actually, maybe the Cowboys will sign him: http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2013/12/18/dez-bryant-apologizes-for-walking-off-field-in-dallas-cowboys-last-loss/
stoicsentry
Hypothetically, if they could keep him for the same amount as the average 3rd receiver in the NFL... would you all do it? I wonder if I would. I doubt he's going to get a payday anywhere.

joewillie78
Heres a novel idea, Trade for Josh Gordon and then have Tone "mentor" him.
stoicsentry
No. So is this a blanket "no" thing? What about league minimum, hypothetically?
dbatesman
I'd be willing to pay Holmes the league minimum never to come within a hundred miles of Florham Park again.

I wonder if I would. I doubt he's going to get a payday anywhere. If they could keep him for the veterans minimum here is how the process should go: 1. You think about it. You say, wow for the veterans minimum a full year after the injury he could realistically get to the 800 yard range again. Not bad for the vet minimum. 2. Then you say well we thought about it and you walk away from him. He can't be on the team next year.
gsnts725
Even he played for free I wouldn't want him back. He's a locker room cancer and basically Jeremy Shockey of the Jets.
sourceworx
Of course he wants to stay. What other team would be dumb enough to pay him, and put up with his bullsh!t?
SoFlaJets
I was listening to the Panthers announcers last week and it was brutal listening to them talk about Santonio Holmes and how far off he has fallen and how he doesn't even LOOK like a professional football player anymore. They almost felt sorry for him-He.Is.Done.
SayNoToDMC
Super Bowl MVP's don't grow on tree's guys. He's also been willing to mentor our younger guys. I never got all the hate, he's just misunderstood

MexiRoll6
Even if Holmes would play FOR FREE, the price would be too high. He is an ego-maniac, who thinks he is a number 1 WR when he is barely good enough to be a good 2. Bye bye a$$ wipe.
flgreen
I don't want Holmes on this team badly, but I have a really bad feeling about this. I can just see him signing with the Pats real cheap, and putting up 39,000 yards with Brady throwing him the football. 8,000 against the Jets alone
