RyanBe_Tweetin
By Gregg Rosenthal Around The League editor Published: May 16, 2012 at 01:13 p.m. Updated: May 16, 2012 at 03:18 p.m. New York Jets running back Joe McKnight's introduction to the NFL was not a pretty one. He threw up and cramped up throughout his rookie minicamp in 2010. It didn't get much better when he failed the team's conditioning test at training camp later that summer and was the subject of a lot of grousing by Jets coaches during that season's edition of HBO's "Hard Knocks". It appeared that McKnight matured in his second season. He certainly was a bigger factor on the field -- especially kick returns. Now McKnight is simply just bigger. McKnight told the New York Daily News he gained 16 pounds this offseason by eating a "lot of McDonald's." The Super Size Me diet apparently doesn't work well for NFL players. "I was eating healthy, but the majority of time I was eating bad. I wasn't eating all the right stuff. ... Like Tim Tebow," McKnight said. It's nice to see that Tebow is already providing a nutritional beacon of hope for guys like McKnight. Meanwhile, the Jets might want to think about getting more running back depth behind Shonn Greene. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d82922744/article/joe-mcknight-mcdonalds-reason-i-gained-16-pounds

BroadwayJoe12
I had a handful of buddies who were big into power-lifting as well as fitness/bodybuilding competitions and every single one of them had days where they would just take in exorbitant amount of calories, often from fast-food chains like McDonalds, it was part of their eating regiment. This is a complete non-issue that only becomes an issue for journalists and those who don't understand the eating habits of certain athletes on certain training programs. Stonehands
You would think when you are only a couple years removed from puking your brains out in training camp that you would avoid making jokes about your lack of offseason discipline.
Lupz27
NFL media coverage has turned the sport from a weekly sporting event to a yearly soap opera, and if it wasn't for gambling, and fantasy football it would not survive these a$$ clowns.
